, CHURCH NOTES (Continued from Front Page) WAKEFIELD REVIVAL Revival services at the Baptist church in Wakefield will begin on # the night of the fifth Sunday in this month. The pastor, Rev. Carl Ousley, will be assisted by Dr. Carl Townsend of Hayes-Bar ton church, Raleigh. Services will be held in the afternoon and at night through the week. Mr. and Mrs. Pittman Stell, Miss Ruby Stell and Rev. A. A. Pippin returned from attending the sessions of the Southern Bap tist Convention in Richmond with reports of a great meeting as to numbers and spirituality. Mr. Stell says that one who has never heard the great old hymns sung by vast congregations does not re alize the thrill of their melody and the uplift such music holds for the soul. The Indian population of the United States has increased 25 per cent in the last forty years. The death rate among Indians is high but the birth rate is well above the national average. It is estimated that there were more than Indians here when the first white men came.. At present there are fewer than 340,- 000. SAVE AND BESAFEI jii N ■ . THE ZEBULON RECORD, ZEBULON, NORTH CAROLINA, FRIDAY, MAY 20th„ 1938. Building In Zebulon With nothing in the way of a * boom responsible, but inspired on ly by the need for more homes, building continues in Zebulon. The Wallace Chamblee home is nearing completion; the W. O. Glover home is rapidly being erected; the remodelled Donald Stallings place is about ready for occupancy; C. V. Whitley is having an attractive house built in the western part of town between the Moser and A. D. Privette places, to be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Screws. Also to be built in the near fu ture are homes for the Irby Gills and Robert Dawsons, which will be on the same street as the new Chamblee and Pippin homes. At the coiner of this street, back of the J. E. Gill home and facing Z. J. Robertson’s, the Ruric Gills plan to have their new house, con struction to begin soon. Clarence Hocutt has bought lots just north of the M. M. Faison home on Arrendall Ave. and plans to build a home there before long. This is desirable land and in a good section. Zebulon may safely be called a growing town. CELEBRATES 75th BIRTHDAY On the day her 75th birthday was celebrated Mrs. W. 11.
