Moore. Brantley Chamblee of Zebulon, R 2, son of Preston P. Chamblee, went to Fort Bragg last week and stood the examination for entrance into the aviation department of the army. Mrs. W. H. Chamblee quietly celebrated the 75th anniversary of her birth on Friday of last week. She has recovered from her re cent ill health and now feels better than at any time during the past two years. Accompanied by R. L. Isaacs Misses Juanita Brown, Hortense Wicker, and Mrs. Ruth Perry visit ed the RECORD shop last Satur day. Loyal to Zebulon, Mr. Isaacs frequently brings his friends and introduces them to friends here. They are always welcome. The RECORD’S editor and Mrs. Davis acknowledge with pleasure an invitation from Miss Margaret Gray Williams to attend the gra duating exercises of the senior class of the Dorothea Dix School of Nursing in the hospital audito rium on Wednesday evening, May 25. Miss Williams is a graduate of Wakelon, where she did espe cially good work, and is to be con gratulated upon having completed her course in nursing. Mrs. C. V. Whitley was hostess to the Wednesday Afternoon Club and a few additional guests at the regular meeting last week. Mrs. Ebbie Stallings, who has been sick for some time, was taken back to Raleigh hospital la t week for further treatment. Shelton Lewis of Wendell spent the week end with his cousins in the home of his uncle, Ralph Lewis. Theo. B. Davis went to Salem burg Sunday to attend a part of the commencement exercises at Pineland College, hearing the bac calaureate sermon. Miss Vida Bell is home for the summer from Murfreesboro, where she is a member of the school faculty. Miss Dorothy Barrow is at home after commencement in the Farm ville schools where she taught for the past term. Ralph Bryant of Middlesex has recovered sufficiently from a re cent major operation at Duke hos pital to be brought home on Wed nesday of this week. * Mrs. Pattie Harris visited her THE ZEBULON RECORD. Finch, before going to the home of her brother, W. H. Chamblee on Route three. Misses Margaret Bunn and Kay Kemp were home from Meredith College for the week end with their respective families. With them was Miss Jane Thomas, who spent a part of the time in each home. Miss Linda Newton spent the week ' end here with her sister. Mrs. F. E. Dunn. Miss Creola Eddins, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eddins of Wakefield, is among the members of the graduating class at Mary Elizabeth Hospital. Dr. C. E. Flowers had his ton tils removed on Thursday of last week and has been absent from his office since that time. He is able to be up now, but talking is both difficult and painful. Her friends are very glad to know that Mrs. Willard Gill is making good progress toward re covery. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Miss Rob ertson is well known in Zebulon, being a graduate of Wakelon school, and having many friends here. Mrs. W. C. Harrison and her sister, Miss Annie Ross were in Zebulon on Friday of last week re newing acquaintance with former neighbors. Mrs. Harrison, now of Baltimore, was formerly Miss Ro berta Ross and lived in Zebulon more than twenty years ago. She was down last week to see her daughter take part in commence ment exercises at St. Mary’s School in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Gay, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hood, and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Hood visited rela tives last week in Washington, D. C., Baltimore, and New Jersey. Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Barbee at tended the State Medical Conven tion in Pinehurst last week. This week they are attending the Shriners Convention in Fayette ville. Mrs. G. S. Barbee was hostess to her bridge club on Friday evening of last week.
