CLUB COLUMN (Continued from front page) Concerto in E flat major by Mo zart. Frederick Page gave a sketch of the life of Edgar Guest and read three of his poems. Mrs. Theo. Davis discussed Poetry in the Bible. Mrs. A. N. Jones explained that the Library will be open to adults as well as children during the summer and asked for donations of books to form the nucleus of a club library; also for magazines. At present for the sake of greater convenience the library is in the larger room of the club apartment. Should the apartment be rented the books will be moved to the auditorium of the club house. Mrs. Paul Yelverton Chairman of the Health Department of the Raleigh Woman’s Club, announces the dedication of the Wake Coun ty Preventorium, Sunday, May 22, 1938, at 4:30 p. m. An interesting program is be ing arranged and the public is in vited to visit the Preventorium on that date. The construction of the Preventorium has been made pos sible by the people of Wake coun ty who have purchased Christmas reals each year from the Health Department of the Woman’s Club and sold by the Parent-Teacher Association and other organiza tions interested in tuberculosis control work. ATLANTA HOTEL BURNED Fire starting early Monday in the basement of the Terminal Ho tel in Atlanta destroyed the build ing and took the lives of 25 per sons. A number yet unknown were seriously hurt. The hotel was an old building, and burned with amazing rapidity. Guests asleep in the rooms were either awakened by the smoke and fire or were suffocated. i RECORD. M., in cluding a large number of visitors from far and near. We always welcome visitors as well as regu lar attendants. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hamilton and baby were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Davis over the week end. Jessie Dwight High spent Sun day night with Wade Lee O’Neal Miss Mozelle Lynch visited Miss Merle Cope Sunday. Mr. L. T. Davis and family visited Mr. Oscar Maydon and family and Mrs. Hellon Maydon, Mrs. Davis’ mother, Moore’s Chapel Wednesday night. Wade Lee and Worth O’Neal visited Mr. and Mrs. Jessie High and son, Jessie Dwight, Sunday. Most, of those on the sick list in this community are improving. Mr. and Mrs. E. C.
