CHURCH NEWS !
I
(Continued From Front Page)
Philatheas of the Baptist S. S.
held their July meeting Monday
night in the home of Mrs. M. J.
Whitley with the president, Mrs.
A. N. Jones, in charge of the pro
gram. This is one class that was
not disorganized by Monday’s holi
day.
Services at the Pearce revival
are being held in the new church
building, which is a beautiful and
convenient structure of which the
membership is justly proud. To
date more than $7,000 has been
spent in building and another
thousand will be required to finish
it. Secretary M. A. Huggins de
clared recently that a value of $15,-
000 has been achieved. Work as
well as money has been contributed
and the result is a monument to
cooperation.
REFRIGERATOR INCUBATION
The Country Home reports that
a thirteen-year-old boy took some
eggs on which a hen had sat for
two weeks before abandoning
them, put the eggs in a box over
the tiny flame of a gas refrigera
tor, and got a 100 per cent hatch.
He was careful to turn the eggs
every day, and the heat was just
right for hatching.

months ago as a substitute for the
company’s stock-purchase and an

with a sliding scale of contribu

Four to five rooms, Ameri

On the basis of a nationwide sur

tect, has planned for the Monthly
Small House Club the home
sketched above. It represents a
composite of the typical home fa
vored by builders all over the
United States. The house includes
12,374 cubic feet. It has an ample
living room, including a large,
cheery fireplace. The two bed rooms
are of good size, equipped with
deep clothes closets and the bath
is convenient to both. The kitchen
is admirably arranged in the im
portant matter of saving steps. The
dinette provides all dining facili
ties needed by a small family save

A definite trend In today’s home
building, according to Mr. Evans,
is the insistent demand of the
home-owner for safety and comfort
as well as attractive appearance.
In the case of roofing on such a
home as this, improvements in
manufacture in recent years have
made it possible to combine safety
with extreme attractiveness, dura

surfaced asphalt shingle roof. Such
