The first thing that struck my at tention was the pretty, wide streets and those large store build ings that would be a credit even to any of the larger cities. And such beautiful homes and lawns. Even all the faces seem very familiar to me, even if I cannot call them all by their names. I wish to state to all of my friends, that all of these good roads lead to Zebulon, N. C., the place where I am now located. I am now with Whitley & Scarboro, and nothing will please me any more than have you come to see me. Every expression and every lit tle movement seem to say, Wel come to Zebulon. JOE R. HINNANT. REVOLT BRINGS DEATH TO FOUR A revolt against the food served criminals in prison in Philadelphia resulted in the deaths of four pris oners. On last Friday 650 of the 1,480 inmates of the jail refused to eat supper. The strikers were put in their cells on a diet of bread and water. All but 13 later accepted their meals. They had demanded that no hamburger, spaghetti, cheese or fried egg plant be served. The four men found dead in the cells were bruised and appeared to have been scalded with hot water. They are said to have been fight ing among themselves. The war den declares that they were not killed by prison discipline. Inves tigations will be made. LOST BAG Two weeks ago Mrs. 'N. C. Mul lins of Louisburg lost a black leather bag somewhere between Zebulon and Louisburg. It con tained a lot of small tools used in repairing graphophones. If the finder will return it to her or to the Record office, it will be greatly appreciated and a reward will be given.
