AGRICULTURAL EXHIBITS AT THE FIVE COUNTY FAIR By J. E. McINTIRE While not so great in quantity, the quality was very good of the agricultural exhibits at the recent fair, I hope next year that the farmers will show a better spirit of cooperation with the fair offi cials and have a greater variety, and larger quantity of farm pro duce on exhibit. The lack of dis play this year was not caused from scarcity, but for lack of interest. Finally they got so they wouldn’t revive at all when I put them in the ground.’ No wonder both gardener and mums were disheartened. —i Tactful Lady An entertaining story has been told us recently. It concerns a lady of our town who was buying gro ceries in a certain store here; and when she went to settle for them a man who had drunk too deeply of the cup that sometimes cheers and always inebriates insisted that he be allowed to pay for her pur prizes that are not listed, but have been given out, others winning who have not received their prizes include the following: Ivey Narron, Mrs. D. H. Under hill; B. K. Wakken; Mrs. Ollie McGinnis. The premiums are at the Record office, and if the own ers will call there they may receive them. DR. A. W. Then she told him if he really wanted to give away money, she would take it to church for him the next Sunday, would put it in an envelope marked with his name, and would drop it in the collection for charity.
