FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25 1938 COMMUNITY CORRESPONDENCE PILOT The W. M. U. meets Saturday evening at the church. Mr. Charles Brown principal of New Harris’ school was visitor at our church Sunday. We are al ways glad to welcome Mr. Brown. He was our principal for six years. Come again Mr. Brown. Mr. M. L. Hag Wood and Mr. Fred Alford went to Miami, Florida, Fri day. Mr. and Mrs. Berry Richerson and mother went to Richmond, Va. Sunday to see Miss Violet Bunn. Miss Ruth Liner and brother of Asheville spent the week-end with Mrs. Larosa Bunn. The Melody Boys entertr ined the community at the school building Monday night. Mr. J. M. Stallings is having his house painted. Mr. Jerry Hagwood is growing a mustache and it becomes him very much. PLEASANT HILL Mr. and Mrs. Jack West and Miss Velma Starns of Durham, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Starns, Sunday. Miss Iradell Gay, of Rolesville visited her sitser, Estelle Gay, Friday and Saturday. We are sorry Mrs. Lola Alphin is very sick in Duke hospital. Mrs. B. F. Weathers and children spent Sunday with Mrs. Sanford Pearce. Mr. Sanford Pearce and daugh ter, Marie, Mrs. Stacey Gay and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Privette spent Sunday in Virginia with Mr. Privette’s sister . Mr. Leaman Parish ,of Raleigh, spent the week-end with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Parish. Mrs. Bertie Carter visited her daughter in Johnson Sunday. Mrs. Milton* Joyner and son, W. M. Joyner, of Raleigh, visited her father, Mr. J. W. Gay, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Creech and Mrs. Arkell Philips ,of Union Chapel, spent Sunday afternoon at Mr. B. F. Weather’s home. Mrs. A. 0. Puryear and little son spent the week-end With her grand parents near Rolesville. Miss Mary Ellen Liles spent the week-endwith Miss Nettie Ruth Philips, of Union Chapel. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Perry spent Sunday with Mrs. Bettie Watkins. Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Gay, Mrs. C. M. Rhodes, Mrs. E. W. Hood and Mrs. Puryear spent the week end in Boonville with Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Hood. They went over the Blue Ridge mountains Sunday aft ernoon. Miss Ella Dean Long, of Zebu lon, spent Thursday night with Edna Earl Weathers . Mr. Ennis Puryear, Johnie Moody and cousin, of Rolesville, were visitorsat T. Y. Puryear’s Sunday. WAKE X_ROADS The community is in deepest sympathy with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin D. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holden and son, Harold spent this week-end with their daughter, Mrs. Walter Cooke. Mrs. R. S. Jones and daughter, Mrs. Walter Watkins, spent Sun day with their daughter and sister Mrs. Horace Poole. Little Alva Rea Poole has been ill for several days but seems to be improving now. Mr. Walter Cooke is visiting his mother Mrs. Jim Cook of Durham who has been ill for some time. Mrs Edward Watkins and Mrs. Willie Pearson are on the sick list. Hope they will soon be well. Many are glad to see these cool frosty mornings for they have al ready started killing hogs. Everyone will be glad when January comes for our pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Poole, will return to their home from the seminary in Kentucky. All should be very thankful this yea rfor the crops and good weath er for harvesting, health and food and lots of other things. ROLESVILLE Miss Annie Mae Rogers of Ra- ! leigh visited her mother, Mrs. W. (). Rogers for the week end. A number from Rolesville attend ed the Baptist State Convention in Raleigh last week and reported the best convention yet. Mr. Basil Williams of Raleigh spent Monday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. 11. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Jordan, visited Raleigh Saturday. Mrs. Will Newton of Youngs ville has been spending some time with her niece Mrs. J. L. Pearce. Mrs. Grover Marshall of Raleigh was a Rolesville visitor Sunday. The building program of the Rolesville church is going along nicely. They are on the pay as you go plan. Miss Elizabeth Jones of Raleigh spent the week-end with her mother Mrs. Frank Jones. George Stell, Jr., is spending some time w T ith his sister Mrs. Gary Bowding. Mrs. Hall Battle of Raleigh spent the week-end with her moth er Mrs. R. L. Rogers. Essie Bowling w’as home for the week end. The junior class gave a play “The Blue Bag”, Nov 18, thorough ly enjoyed by all. Each one gave his part in a fine way. They were coached by Mrs. G. W. Jordan.
