COMMUNITY CORRESPONDENCE Pleasant Hill We are glad to report Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Upchurch’s little son is improving with pneumonia. Mrs. Charlie Hawkins spent sev eral days last week with Mrs. Norman Dean of 'Wendell who has been sick. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Perry were visitors at Mr. Charlie Horton’s •f the Bethany section. Mr. and Mrs. Crusi e Denten spent Saturday night with her mother, Mrs. Edward Oakly near Bethlehem. Mr. and Mrs. Jack West and Thelma Starnes of Durham spent Sunday at Mr. J. )?. Starnes, Mrs. Edd Fowler and daughter •were visitors at Mr. Irvin Privetts and B. K. Horton’s Saturday after onon. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Horton spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. M. B. Perry. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Williford of Bethany, Mr. and Mrs. Emnis Pur year of Beulah, and C. D. Puryear of Wakefield were visitors at T. Y. Puryear’s Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Alfonza Starnes of near Zebulon spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Pressie Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Pearce were visitors at Mr. Floyd Phil ips’ of Union Chapel. Pilot We had a good attendance at Sunday school Sunday with quite a few visitors. Our pastor will be with us at our regular preaching service next Sunday. We hope to have a large crowd. Mrs. M. S. Clifton of Louisburg and Mrs. Bruce of Henderson were visitors at church Sunday and also at school last week. Mr. J. P. Buchanan of Wendell was a visitor in Sunday school Sunday. Miss Edith Earl Williams of Atlantic Christian College in Wil son, was at Sunday school Sunday. Miss Bennitt of Atlantic Christ ian College in Wilson was here Sunday. Mr. Percy Jones of Raleigh was here last weekend. Miss Cherry Pearce of Raleigh was here last weekend. Mr. H. E. Stallings is having an old fish pond rebuilt and Mr. Char ley Williams and Mr. Hubert Bunn are building the dam. Miss Beryl Lee Stallings and friends visited in Apex Sunday. Wake X Roads Funeral services was held at Wake Cross Roads Church Sunday afternoon at 3:00 for Mr. Charlie Marshall -of near Walkers Cross Roads. He died Saturday night at 9 o’clock. After a short illness. He was stricken with a stroke Satur day morning about 9 o’clock from which he never regained conscious ness. Funeral service was held by his pastor, Rev. William Poole. Mr. Marshall was 62 years old and had been a member of Wake X Roads church for over 30 years. His sud den death brought grief to many. He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Rosie Faison Marshall and six children: Edward and Robert Mar shall of Raleigh, Mrs. Troy T. Raines of Rolesville, Mrs. Zelma Kearny of Wake Forest and Mos es and Bessie Belle Marshall of Wake Forest, Route 2. Mr. Lawrence Rigsbee of near Durham spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Rigsbee and family. There was a large crowd attend- ing the social at Miaa Ruby Lee Holden’s Saturday night. Music was played by Lawrence, Oscar, Leonard and Robertlee Ribsbee. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holden spent Sunday at Mrs. Holden’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Raines of Forestville. e Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Massey visi*.- 'ed Mr. Massey’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Massey and family, Sunday night. ROLESVILLE Mr. C. J. Stells and Mr. George Roberson have returned from an extended trip to Florida. Miss Christine Fowler spent the weekend with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Harris. Mrs. J. W. Bowling, Dot Harris, Mary Peace spent Sunday in Raleigh vis iting Mr. and Mrs. Lonnine Bowl ing. Mrs. H. E. Perry, Sr., and Mrs. Frank Beddingfield gave Mrs. Bill O’Neal a miscellaneous shower February 3 at the home of Mrs. H. E. Perry, Sr. Games and contests were enjoyed by all. The hostesses served an ice course. Mrs. O'Neal received many beautiful and useful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Spruill Pulley are all smiles. It’s a boy, Bobbie Jack son. Our heart goes out in sympathy to Mr. Willie Hagwood and family in the death of wife and mother. A good woman gone to her reward. Mrs. U. F. Mitchell who is ill at Rex Hospital is resting nicely. The community club met Febru ary 6 at the club house for their regular Feb. meeting. After the business Mrs. Zeb Williams, host ess, served dainty refreshments. Color scheme was red and white. She carried out the valentine idea in an attractive way. Hettie Mildred Williams is at Rex Hosiptal for a tonsil oper ation. You were missed at church Sun day. Be there next Sunday. C. Ball, the same being a part of the farm known as the W. H. Brantley place. Tract No. 2: Being in Little River Township, Wake County, beginning at a stake on the Ra leigh and Tarboro Road at the northeast comer of B. B. Brant ley, deceased (now E. H. Kemp’s line); thence southwardly with said line about 400 yards to a small branch; thence northward ly up the run of said branch or ditch to where it crosses Raleigh and Tarboro road; thence west wardly with said road 142 yards to the beginning, containing six or less, the same being a portion of the estate of S. After making the deduction on account of the above exception, the two tracts of land herein de scribed contain fifty-eight (68) acres, more or less, and are the same lands described in a deed from A. R. House, Commissioner, recorded in Book 541 at p*£e 359, Wage County Itegistry, to C. V. Whitley; and described in a quit claim deed from H. W. Whitley and wife and R. J. Whitley to C. V.
