POLECAT LEAGUE MAY PLAY YANKS PHOO! IT STINKS! The Polecat League, composed of the Zebulon and Wendell play ground teams, was very much un able to play a scheduled game Monday afternoon. This g,me was to be played on the Wakelon diamond. However, when the Wendell team failed to show up, Mrs. Dell, coach, director, manager, etc., took the local stars over to the enemies’ diamond. There was no sign of a team at Wendell, either, so the playground boys from Zebulon were forced to take the game by default. No definite time hss been set for another game. Nearly every time the local talent organizes to defeat the Wendell nine, the Wen dell nine is not to be found. The Polecat League is called the fastest league in the nation by the teams who participate. They are now considering playing the New York Yankees for the "world’s championship on a winner-take all basis. This year more people have gone to see games played by this league than ever before. Thus far 37 people, excluding players, have seen the four games. Three pins have been taken in at the ticket box. Watch this page next week for more news concerning games to be played by this league. TENNIS MATCH CAN NOT BE PLAYED BE CAUSE OF NO CO-OP. Due to the lack of interest and of co-operztion the tennis match scheduled with Wake Forest Col lege has been called off. It is still possible to have this match if the tennis players in this city will get together and have a tournament to select players. The Wake Forest team is prepared to play the locals. If anyone is interested enough to want to play he is invited to give his name to the sports editor. If enough are interested, a tourna ment will be held to select players. HERE'S THAT GAL AGAIN- MAKES 112 Mary Margaret Finch, who was last week’s champ, tied with Mrs. Raleigh Alford for first place in the women’s division in bowling. Miss Finch places first or second every week. Both Miss Finch and Mrs. Alford scored 112. 11. C. Wade reted high with 135 in the men’s division. Rom Moser came in a close second with 131. These scores were much higer than those last week. Interest in bowling is growing as the bowlers become more skillful, and the psrticipants are being di vided into three classes.
