FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 1940. PLEASANT HILL Mr. Elwood Perry is back in school after a few days illness. We are sorry Mr. Bruen Tess near is sick. We are sorry to report Mrs. Will Rhodes' mother, Mrs. Frank Ed dins, is seriously ill i n the hospital. Mrs. Mary Kemp of Wakefield called to see Mrs. W. p. Robert son Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Bill Wheless and family of Loui S burg, Mrs. Art Morris and Mrs. Minnie Wilks of Cheyene, Wy oming, Mr. S. T. Wheeles of Blan chard, Oklahoma, were recent visi tors at Mr. W. H. Catletts. Mr. and Mrs. Sterlin and children of Union Chapel called to see Mrs. W. P. Robertson Thursday. Mr. C. D. Puryear spent Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody of Rolesville. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Oakly and children were visitors at Mr. Wood roe Richards of Zebulon Sunday af ternoon. We are glad to report Mrs. Ley cester Mitchel of Edgemont is able to be up and out after illness. Miss Elizabeth and Jodie Mae Weathers were visitors at Miss Helen Tesnears Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Edd Fowler and daughter, Sallie, of Rolesville, and Mr. and Mrs. William Jones of Wendell were visitors at Mr. J. W. Oak ley’s Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Oakley called to see Mr. and Mrs. Clem Creech of Union Chapel last Tuesday. Both Mr. and Mrs. Creech have been in Duke hospital recently. Williford of Bethany spent Sunday at Mr. T. Y. Puryear’s. PILOT We are having such bad weath er it is hard to get our gardens planted. Some of th'>m have man aged to plant some potatoes, onions, and peas. Our former pastor. Rev. Fora A. Bums of Fuquay Springs, vis ited in the community this week. M iss Edith Earle Williams, who is attending college at Wilson, N. C., spent a few days at home re cently. Mr. and Mrs. Brodie Martin, with some friends, motored to Durham Sunday to see their baby, who is in the hospital. Mr. Preston Massey and family have moved to their new home. He has a very beautiful home. Mr. Dommie Bunn has moved into the house of Mr. E. R. Stal lings, formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Ray. Mr. Kurt Ray is building a new home on the Brantley farm near Pilot. Specialists say sight is often impaired because of poor light. THE ZEBULON RECORD Wake X Roads There were 120 present at Sun day School Sunday morning and a large crowd at preaching Sunday night. Everyone enjoyed the fine sermon by our pastor, Rev. A. D. Parrish. Miss Clarice Blackley is spend ing some time with her aunt in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Blackley and family, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Black ley and daughter, and Joseph Blackley of Durham, visited Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Furr of Raleigh Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Massey an nounce the birth of a son, Cray ton Mc Kay, on March 9, 1940.
