Davis \ r If you happen to get iron rust or mildew on a garment worth more than the trouble of getting the stain out, you can do a good job with lemon juice and salt on a sunny day. But be careful to wash this mixture out with clear water before putting any soap on; or you’ll have another stain to work over. I learned this by ex perience. One day last week, after using the pressure cooker to get every scrap of flavor from some soup bones and nothing but bones I decided to process three quarts of peaches in the cooker. I have frequently used it with the pet cock open for processing fruits and it gives good service that way. But this time I must have absent mindedly closed the valve. When the twenty minutes time for pro cessing the peaches was up, I thought it would make no differ ence if they stayed on the stove till I wasn’t so busy. When I tried to take the cover off the cooker it seemed stuck tight. I blamed my neuritic wrist and tried harder. The town name. Zebulon, N. C., is in letters 10 feet high high across the front (top) of the Zebulon Supply Build ing; in the lower right is the circle and the figure 19 indicating the nearest airport is 19 miles away in the direction indicated by the arrow; the long arrow indicates magnetic North and figures above it indicate the latitude, and the figures below the longitude in which the Town of Zebulon lies. Zebulon’s main street runs approximately Northwest and Southeast. The new Record building can be seen on the right-hand side of the main street. A Zebuion farmer’s wife has today solved the lard shortage, which has been a major matter for some time here. Her husband reports that she is making biscuits with mineral oil, and that the biscuits are short enough, and taste pretty good, but “they seem to upset me a bit.” Mrs. J. A. Kemp and C. M. C. Department of Agriculture es timates of the State tobacco acre age, yield, and production and the percentage comparison with last J year are as follows: Middle and Old Belts: acres, 278,000—up 5 per cent; yield per acre, 950 pounds— down 8 per cent; production 204,100,000 lbs. j —down 3 per cent. Eastern North Carolina: acres, 353,000 up 4 per cent; yield per acre 1,125 —up 1 per cent; production 397,125.000 pounds up 6 per cent.
