dress by Hon. Kerr Scott was
worth the trip. I wish all could
have heard him.
Mr. Lester Adcock of Stamford,
Lonn., has been visiting his sister,
Mrs .L. G. Faulkner, the past
week. He made the trip on his
car by himself, as all his children
were in school at this time. He
has a beautiful home and a very
nice wife and three children
something to be proud of— and
he is really wrapped up in them.
I had the pleasure of visiting in
his home on my trip north, which
I enjoyed a lot. Lester is the
same old boy j us t a little fat
ter and a little balder, but just as
full of life. He had quite a job
trying to see all his old friends
while here. He went with us to
Wilson to sell tobacco on Monday.
We averaged 59 cents for a lot of
842 pounds. Not bad! We went
to Rocky Mount and had barbe
cue at Bob Melton’s, and enjoyed
the day. He also went to Burling
ton, Oxford, Raleigh, Wendell and

Zebulon. We all enjoyed having
him, for he is really a jolly good
fellow. So come again Lester,
and bring the family.
Mr. Robert Eddins has been
catching up on some of his fish
es also Uncle Bill Broughton.
He caught twelve last Monday af
ternoon, very nice ones.
Mr. and Mrs., John Broughton
recently went to see Mrs. Ruffin
Broughton at Wake Forest. She
is much improved after an attack
of pneumonia. She is with her
daughter now.
Mrs. H. E. Whitaker has re
turned to New Jersey after a few
days with her mother, Mrs. E. W.
Hood.
I was very sorry to hear of Mr.
T. B. Davis being hurt. I hope
and trust he will soon be better.
