Club Meets Here
Mrs. P. H. Massey and Mrs. El
eanor White were hostesses to
members and guests of William
Robert Mills Book Club on Tues
day evening, October 14th, in the
home of Mrs. Massey. Beautiful i
fall flowers, attractively arranged,!
and the soft light of several lamps
made a lovely setting for the pro
gram of the evening.
The program for the year’s
study is “Mexico” and Mrs. R. L.
Eagles and Mrs. Numa Freeman
gave two splendid papers on the
Mexican People and Their Revo
lutions and Destiny. Mrs. L. M.
Massey of Zebulon, accompanied
by Charles Horton of Zebulon,
sang “Make Believe” and “A
Brown Bird Singing.”
Special guests 3f the evening
were Mesdame# R. H. Herring,
Exum Chamblee, Carlton Mitchell,
L. M. Massey and Mr. Charles
Horton of Zebulon, Mrs. Anna
Partin of Enfield and Miss Ida
Maie Yow of Louisburg.
Mrs. M. L. Rowland was wel
comed into the club as a new
member by the president, Mrs. R.
B. Mitchell.
The hostesses, assisted by Miss
Yow, served a delicious salad
plate, coffee and mints.
Flowers Store Gets
New Line of China
Dalmon Whitley, owner of
Flowers Store in Zebulon, has in
creased the stock in the china de
partment of his business until it
now compares with like depart
ments in the largest stores. Just
this week he received a big ship
ment of chineware, colorful and
beautiful.
In addition to china, the de
partment features an excellent
line of what-nots and novelty
items, both in glass and china.
Mrs. W. G. Temple
Entertains Her Club
Mrs. Wallace Temple was host
ess recently to members of the
Friendly Nine Bridge Club and
Mrs. Lois M. Wall and Mrs.
George H. Temple were guests.
Following several progressions,
high and low score awards were
presented to Mrs. Armstrong Can
nady and Mrs. Lois M. Wall.
Late in the evening the hostess
served a dessert plate with sand
wiches and coffee.
