Page Six WAKEFIELD NEWS Thanksgiving is almost here and I am so thankful for the many blessings I have received during the past year. We should all be more thankful than we are, and serve Him better day by day. For without His help we can do noth ing. He is a wonderful savior to me. We all were glad to see our old pastor last week, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Turner. They were here for three days, visiting among us. We are very glad to know they are do ing well. He has a full time church at High Point. The revival is in full swing at our sister church, Union Chapel, and was continued through Saturday night. All are cordially invited to come. You will miss something worth while if you don’t. The Gospel Singers will be there at Union Chapel from one till 4 Sunday P. M. It will be worth your while to hear them. It’s a fifth Sunday, you know. Mrs. Helen Jones has been to Gastonia to see the Sidney Fried mans recently. She got back Tuesday night. Building is still in progress. The C. T. Williams home is complete and they are moving in. Williams, Sr., is hav ing a house built next to them. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Adcock, of Stamford, Conn., are coming to spend Thanksgiving with the L. G. Faulkners. Mrs. E. W. Hood and Mrs. Don nie Gay are spending Thanksgiv ing with Mrs. T. Y. Puryear. Hogs are in danger now, since it turned cold. I hear them squeal ing all about. I’ve still got old meat and lard. They don’t know about it and they can’t thank you for some thing they don’t know about. Do good for evil. Love your enemy. Pray for those that spitefully use you. That’s what the good Book says. I hope we all believe it. —Reporter, Vera Rhodes. The Zebulon Record PILOT NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Roy Todd and Jan, of Raleigh, visited Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bunn and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Upchurch on Sunday. Mrs. James Campbell and Jim my, of Raleigh, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Stallings ov er the weekend. We are very sorry to report that Mr. Mark Ray is ill and is in Ma ry Elizabeth Hospital. We wish for him a speedy recovery. Misses Lazelle Lewis, Alice Jones and Merle Brooks of Ra leigh, were home for the weekend. Mrs. Durwood Stallings is im proving nicely. Mrs. Zollie Alford and Mr. Mil lard Stallings are improving. On Thursday night at our regu lar prayer service Mr. Bjork showed a picture on “Alcohol and Its Effects.” Then he stressed to us some fine points pertaining to this. It was greatly enjoyed by all. He also took this picture to the neighboring churches. Charles Rose was guest at Alice Denton’s on Sunday. Sherwood Beddingfield was home for the weekend. Mr. Alton Pearce visited his mother, Mrs. Geneva Pearce, for a couple of days last week. Regular church services will be held Sunday and the public is invited to attend its services. —Bonita.
