Earl Bradley supplied with a good sermon from John 3:16. For God so loved. And how much does he love me? The season of prayer for home missions will be held this week in different homes of the Heph zibah community. It will be at Mrs. Oros Horton’s Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock for this section. The Mission Study Course will be held Friday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Dewey Martin of Eagle Rock at 2:30. Mrs. Roberta (Martin) Perry of Durham will teach the book for the study course. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carter of Rolesville spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Carter. Miss Jeannette Horton, who is a student at the Woman’s College in Greensboro suent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oris Horton. Mrs. T. Y. Puryear, Jr. and Mrs. A. O. Puryear visited Mrs. Al mus Weathers of Rolesville sec tion Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kirkman Richards of Corinth were visitors at Mr. Alfonza Starnes Sunday. We are glad 'Mr. H. O. Hinnant was able to be at church Sunday after illness. Also Dr. Strickland is home from the hospital. We are sorry Mrs. Lola Alphin is still ill in the hospital. Mrs. Maud Liles underwent an operation at Duke hospital last week. We hope she will soon be home. Mrs. Pressie Wood was in the hospital three days last week. We hope she won’t have to have an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Wood and children were visitors at Fuquay Springs Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Gay and Mrs. E. W. Hood of Raleigh were visitors in this section Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Puryear of Durham spent Saturday night with their parents, Mr. and I.lrs. T. Y. Puryear. The Intermediate boys and girls of Hephzibah Sunday School met at the Community Center Satur day night for a Leap Year party. Class held its regular monthly class meeting Monday night in the Baptist par sonage with Mrs. Mitchell, Pattie Daniels, Ethel Pippin and Lucille Brown as joint hostesses. Mazie Bissette read the Scrip ture followed by prayer by Chris tine Creech. Dorothy Ellington gave a very interesting talk on “The Life of Rahab.” During the social hour games and contests were enjoyed. De licious refreshments were served. There were thirty-four members present. Mrs. Henry Massey was a visitor. Mrs. J. R. Sawyer Hostess at Bridge Mrs. J. R. Sawyer was hostess to her bridge club, and a number of other guests, Friday evening, at her home in Zebulon. Berries and potted plants were used in in the living rooms where three tables of bridge were in play. Mrs. M. T. Ray, Jr., received high score prize for guests and Mrs. R. Vance Brown won high for club members. Mrs. Robert Dawson won the floating prize and Mrs. Willard Gill received low score award. The hostess served a dessert course with coffee.
