WAKEFIELD
Mr. Ebbie Stallings is in the
hospital for an eye operation. We
hope he will soon be out and home
again.
I think if we all were as afraid
of the devil as we are of a show
er of rain there wouldn’t be many
in hell. We only had 44 at Sun
day School last Sunday. I am
sorry I missed, I have felt guilty
all week. But I will admit I didn’t
stay home on account of the rain
but just because I couldn’t get
ready in time.
I hope I don’t miss any more,
I feel like I have lost something
when I miss church and Sunday
school and it’s true, we all have.
Mr. and Mrs. Berdon Eddins
and little son were Raleigh visi
tors to see Mrs. Maggie King, his
aunt, she is improving.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Mitchell
were oiit to Church Sunday night.
We were glad to have them back.
Mrs. Vera Rhodes called to see
Mr. C. E. Stone last Monday night.
He was able to sit up and is doing
fine. I also called to see Mr. C.
D. Pace, I hadn’t seen him since
his birthday.
I went to see Mrs. Nora Eddins
and took her some soup and crack
ers last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Eddins went
to Fuquay Springs to see their
daughter, Mrs. Alford. They came
back by to see his mother. Mr. C.
B. Eddins, Sr. also called to see
her and took her something to
eat.
Mrs. Donnie Gay and Don and
Mrs. E. W. Hood spent Tuesday
with Mrs. T. Y. Puryear.
The son of Mr. B. K. Horton ar
rived at the Wendell Funeral
home Monday. The funeral will be
next Sunday at Hephzibah church.
He lost his life in the service.
Mrs. Vera Rhodes and Mrs.
Dennis Carter and daughter call
ed to see Mrs. T. Y. Puryear
Tuesday. She is not feeling so well
and is under the doctor’s care. We
hope she will soon be better.
We are sorry to lose the family
of the W. A. Allmans. We sure
miss seeing them pass, but our
loss is Zebulon’s gain. We hope
you all like your new home.
We welcome Mr. John Clark and
family to our community. They
have purchased the Lee Allman
place. We welcome you to our
church and Sunday School.
Our little friend Wayne Price
is still hanging on and we are 1
still pulling for him and live in !
hopes he will pull through. We
are still praying for his recovery.
Our sympathy goes out to the
family. I hope and pray they can
stand it without too much worry.
Miss Etta V. Liles and Mrs.
Vera Rhodes, Mrs. Helen P. Jones
