Friday, April 2,1948 PILOT NEWS We had a lot of visitors for the Easter weekend. Mrs. Ora Alford of Raleigh was home. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Alford of Raleigh were also home. Miss Lodane Medlin of Wil mington was home with her moth er, Mrs. Ludie Medlin. Calvin Spann of Fort Bragg was home with his wife and baby. Miss Jackie Stallings of Rich mond, Va. spent Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Stallings. Mr. and Mrs. Carl McDuffie of Raleigh were here for Easter. Miss Louise Pearce was also home. On Friday night Miss Mozelle Ray and Mrs. Dalmon Whitley gave their Sunday School Class an Easter party in Miss Ray’s home. The home was beautifully decorated and was carried out in the Easter motif. Nearly all the members were present and it was enjoyed by all. On Wednesday night Mrs. Avon Brantley gave her B. T. U. Class a party in her home. The children all enjoyed it. Nearly everybody went fishing on Easter Monday. We had a good attendance at church on Sunday night for the preaching service. On Saturday from 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock we are having an oyster and fish supper at the Pilot School. The proceeds will go to the lunch room. Let’s everybody come out and enjoy this supper. Regular church services will be held. He receives only his room and board money, of which he may do as he pleases. I think he should receive every cent, and then pay his college ex penses himself. In fact, I think he could save money by doing it that way. As it is now, he only handles the check. Wakefield YPC Meet The Young People’s Class of the Wakefield Baptist Church held its monthly meeting Monday night at the home of Mrs. Sprite Ferrell and Lillie Ferrell.
