Friday, May 21, 1948 Junior Woman's Club Meets at Privette's The Junior Womans Club was hostess to the husbands of the members Wednesday at E. P. Privette’s A delicious chick en barbecue supper was served at 7:00 p.m. After supper a quiz contest was held with Mrs. Thurman Murray as master of ceremdnies. The contestants were rewarded for a correct answer with a stick of gum. Following the contest a male quartet consisting of George Hen e Temple, Frank Kemp, Fred k and Elwood Perry sang. They were accompanied by Mrs. Kemp. Mr. and Mrs. Kemp sang duets, and finally everyone present joined into the singing. Mrs. Elwood Perry, president of the Junior Woman’s Club, an nounced that there would be a meeting of the club on the third Tuesday in June at which time those attending the convention in Asheville would make a report. Mrs. Flowers Honored Mrs. Charles Flowers, Sr., en tertained at a lovely party last M mrsday afternoon honoring her in law, Mrs. Charles Flowers, Jr. The home was beau- j tifully decorated with arrange- ! ments of spring flowers, and each : bridge table was centered with a lovely arrangement. Upon arrival the guests were a delicious dessert cours3, which several progressions bridge were enjoyed. When the scores were tallied, Mrs. Ber nice Bunn was awarded high score prize; with low going to Mrs. Allan Pippin. Mrs. Bernice Bunn and Mrs. Foster Finch were award ed the floating prizes. Miss Helen ! Bunn, bride-elect, was presented a gift of crystal by the hostess, and the honoree, Mrs. Charles Flowers, Jr., was remembered with a gift. Bunn, Helen Gregory, Misses Lucy Palmer, Dorothy Davis, and Grace Franks. Birthday Party Mrs. James Alford entertained her daughter, Betsy, on her fourth birthday Monday afternoon at 3:00. Games were enjoyed by the little guests and prizes were awarded to each winner. Afterwards they were invited into the living room and Betsy blew out the candles on her birth day cake and gifts were opened.
