Friday, June 18, 1948 Let's Try Something New By Cornelia Austin Salads have grown in import ance from “occasional” to “every day,” from “maybe” to “must.” And Spring and Summer make them even more of a “must.” They pep up what otherwise may be a dull, uninteresting meal. The most attractive salads are remarkable for their simplicity. Salads should taste as good as they look. Ingred ients should be uniform in size and ilarge enough to retain their ident ity. There will be more appetite appeal if the arrangement of the salad is casual instead of fixed. Toss ingredients slightly for ar rangement on lettuce never stir. For a change try preparing a salad that may be prepared ahead of time. Serve a salad that is a meal in itseif. The tang of the sea is what you will find in these two salads.
