Friday, July 2, 1948 Revival at Pearces Rev. J. A. Mclver, head of the Mission Extension Department of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, will conduct a series of revival services at Pearce Baptist Church beginning Saturday, July 4, and continuing through the week, ail- ■ nounced Rev. W. C. Blue, pastor of the Pearce and Bunn Baptist Churches. Rev. Mclver preached in more than 40 revivals in North Caro lina during the 14 years of his ministry here. He last preached in the Lumberton Baptist Church in October 1946. For six years he was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Louis burg. His last service at Pearce Church was during the revival meeting in 1924 when fifty per sons were received for baptism. N. B. Chadwick, 73 Nicholas B. Chadwick, 73, of Zebulon and Havelock, died Fri day, June 18, at the home of his son, R. W. Chadwick, following a short illness. Funeral services were held Sat urday afternoon at 3 o’clock from Brown’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Powell, Pastor of Edenton St. Methodist Church, of ficiating. Burial was in the Zeb ulon cemetery. Surviving are the widow; three sons, R. W. of Havelock, and D. L. | and E. T. Chadwick, both of Ral eigh; four daughters, Mrs. E. W. Pridgen, Rocky Mount, Mrs. Carl Castagnola, Norfolk, Va., Mrs. J. C. | Slusher, Jr., North Fork, W. Va.,! and Jeanette Chadwick, New Bern; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Farr and Mrs. J. E. Boylan, both of Wilmington. Mesdames Dona Honeycutt, Lucy Bunn and Herschel Mitchell have returned from a visit to their sister in Pennsylvania. On last Sunday they went to the Honey cutt family reunion at the home of the Sexton Lawrences at Apex, j Misses Louise and Virginia j Farmer of Gladys, Virginia, are spending this week here in the homes of their aunt, Mrs. Theo. ! Davis, and their cousin, Ferd Davis. Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Ray, Jr., have moved from their apartment in the A. C. Dawson residence to an apartment over the Eite Beauty Salon. NOTICE Having qualified as Adminis trator of the Estate of Mrs. Nora Eddins, late of Wake County, North Carolina, this is to notify all persons having claims against the estate of the said Mrs. Nora Eddins, deceased, to exhibit them to the undersigned on or before June 30, 1949, or this notice will be pleaded in bar of their recov ery. July 2 Aug. 7. | - Plan Youth Week The emphasis in the local Meth odist Church next week will be on Children and You*h with the anual Vacation Church School being conducted each morning from 8:30 to 11:30, and a Youth Week held each evening from 8:00 until 10:00. The Vacation School, under the direction of Mrs. F. L. Page, has as its goal the training of children, up to the age of 15, in the fundamentals of Chrisianity and Church life. The Youth Week, held for youth from 12 through 23, will be observ ed in conjunction with the young J people of the Wendell Methodist Church. The Methodists have se cured the services of the Rev. J. H. Miller, Jr., a student of the Divinity School of Duke Universi ty, for both the Vacation School and the Youth Week. Mr. Miller has worked extensively with youth, having traveled with the Youth Caravans which are spon sored by the Methodist Church. Inspection Lanes Two mechanical inspection lanes will be available to automobile owners in Wake and Johnston 1 Counties during July and August. The first, Lane No. 23. will be | permanently located at the State Fair Grounds in Raleigh, while | the second, Lane No. 24, will visit I seven towns in the two counties. Motorists are advised to take advantage of the lanes as soon as possible, because the usual last minute rush late in the year will i result in long delays for applicants. Lane No. 24 has the following schedule: Wake Forest, July 1-7; Wendell. July 9-14; Raleigh, July 16-21; Clayton, July 23-28; Selma, !
