weekend in Raleigh with Mrs.
Roser Browning who has been
very ill with a heart attach. She
attended the Tabernacle Church 1
Sunday a. m. and heard Mrs. An
nie Pully Horton teach a class.
She is my old friend and a great
teacher. I enjoyed it very much. I
returned home Sunday p. m. and
stopped to see Mrs. J. M. Johnson. |
She is much improved.
Miss Etta V. Liles and Mrs. Vera
Rhodes attended the shower at the
club house given for Miss Ruth !
Strickland. It was a very nice
shower she got. A bounty of nice
things. We wish them much hap
piness together. Marriage is a
wonderful thing but you should
think three times before you leap
into a life-long journey like that,
although I think you two are a
wonderful couple and may God
bless you both in your undertak
ings.
Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Gay and
family spent Saturday p. m. with
Mrs. E. W. Hood.

Monday through Friday from 10
a. m. to three p. m. for taking in
canning. We go about two or
three times a week. I like it fine.
I just wish Wakelon had one so we
wouldn’t have to go so far. There
were people from Wilson and

Mr. W. S. Broughton has had a
bad foot for the past few days but
is better now. Anyhow, he is able
to go fishing. He and Mrs. Harris
and I went to the river Wednesday
and caught about four pounds in

picks me up when I have luck like
that. I think I will go again.

Thanks, neighbor, for your patience while we had our face
lifted. We’re through (we hope) with our termite troubles,
but now we’ve got to get our whole place rearranged and
cleaned up for your inspection Wait’ll you see the nice
fluorescent lights we’re putting in. If you can’t wait,
come on in and watch the electricians do the work. Maybe
we can sell you something while you look around the place.
