Fleming - Gay Vows

The marriage of Miss Geraldine
Gay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John Pettigrew Gay of Zebulon,
and Eugene Powell Fleming, son
of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wilbur Flem
ing of Grifton, took place in the
First Baptist Church Saturday
afternoon, August 23, with the
Rev. Jack Rountree of Kinston, of
ficiating.
Miss Martha Hamrick, organist,
and Mrs. James H. Holmes, soloist,
presented a program of wedding
music.

j‘he bride wore a street-length
dress of steel blue satin. Her head
dress was a crown of stephanotis,
and she carried a prayer book,
topped with a white orchid. Her
only ornament was a strand of
pearls.
The maid of honor was Miss
Deen Edwards of Spring Hope
who wore a street length dress of

sapphire blue satin. Her headdress

The bridegroom had his brother,
Heber Fleming, as best man. The
ushers were Johnny Gay, brother
of the bride, and Hubert Gilbert
of Catawba.
Upon return from their wedding
trip, the couple will make their
home in Kinston.
Miss Jocelyn House has returned
to Zebulon from Peabody College
in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Fred Chamblee and daugh
ter, Diana, are spending this week
in Sanford.
Mrs. H. C. Wade is a patient at
»Rex Hospital, where she under
went an operation yesterday.
