Page Eight HORTON HOME Robert K. Horton, who for three years has been with the U. S. Health and Sanitation Service sta tioned in Latin America, arrived in the continental U. S. August 31. After an overnight stop with his mother here, he left on a busi ness trip to Washington and New York City. He will be gone about two weeks and will return to Zeb ulon for an extended visit with his family. Barbecue Supper Wilbur Pulley celebrated his 28th birthday Monday night at the home of his mother, Mrs. James Pulley. Mrs. Mary Lacy Palmer, home economics teacher at Wake lon, baked the cake for the occa sion. Present at the barbecue supper were the immediate family and Earl Medlin. McCrae-Pulley i Mr. and Mrs. James A. Pulley [ announce the marriage of their daughter, Bessie Mae, to Alexan der McCrae of Washington, D. C., on Saturday, August 28, at Wash ington. The couple visited Montreal and Ontario, Canada, on a two-weeks wedding trip. They will make their home in Washington. Bible Study Class The Methodist Bible Study Class will meet at the Wendell Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock for the second half of the study of “Prayers of the Bible.” Mrs. Joe Tippett will complete the book work at this meeting. Transportation will be provided for those interested if they contact Mrs. A. R. House. Newcomb of Wil mington was the guest last Thurs day and Friday of Mrs. John Hor ton. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Privett spent last weekend at Virginia j Beach. Miss Jocelyn House returned ' last week to the State School for • the Blind, for her sixth year of j teaching there. , Mr. B. C. Dunford of Winston Salem visited his sister, Mrs. A. R. House over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Wells, Jr. announce the birth of a daughter on Wednesday, September 15 at the Zebulon Clinic. Mrs. Wells is the former Miss Rochelle Martin. Miss Judy Robertson has re turned to Virginia Intermont Col lege in Bristol, Virginia. Miss Eythe Lee Medlin has re ! turned to Wake Forest College. Theo. B. Davis visited his broth er, Spurgeon Davis, and family in Waynesville last weekend. Phil Bunn attended the Ameri -1 can Legion convention in Ashe ville last weekend. Rev. and Mrs. R. H. Herring were in Waynesville last weekend. Mr. Herring, a former pastor at The Zebulon Record the church preached in the baptist pulpit on Sunday morning. . | Mr. and Mrs. J. O.
