Page Eight A. 8.. Montgomery, 63, Dies at Home of Nephew A. B. Montgomery, 63, died at the home of this nephew, James R. Creech in Zebulon, early Wed nesday morning. Mr. Montgom ery, a retired farmer and railroad man, had been in ill health so a number of year. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Creech of Zebulon, and Mrs. Addie Bass of Wilson; one brother, J. D. Montgomery, of Micro, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were from the home of his brother, J. D. Mont gomery, yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Denny of Wilson. Interment was in the family cemetery in Johnston County. Fire Warning Given This is the most dangerous time of the year for farmers, since tim berlands are dry and quick to blaze when a spark is present, County Forest Warden H. E. Shaw stated this week. He reminded farmers that during this season burning permits are necessary before any material in any of the areas of woodland under the pro tection of the State Forestry Ser vice can be ignited. There is no charge for the grant ing of the permits, which are not necessary for fires started within 500 feet of a dwelling house. Permits for this vicinity are is sued by W. I. Hopkins, Route 2, Zebulon; J. W. Oneal, Knightdale; J. D. Tippett, Route 3, Zebulon; and the agriculture teachers at Wakelon and Shepard Schools. .
