This, That, and the Other
By Mrs. Theo. B. Davis
Years ago the history we now
call secular was frequently refer
ed to as “profane” to distinguish
it from sacred history as found in
the Bible. In rny mind profane had
only one meaning then, and I
looked all through my History of
Virginia, hunting for “cuss
words,” and failing to find them
because that history had been most
carefully edited.
Wf read some time ago of wet
ter water, and chemists are still j
working on this. They add to or
dinary water one per cent of pen
etrant which makes three or four
times as much as the whole
amount would do untreated; also
greatly reducing damage and
smoke, to say nothing of danger
to firemen.
I
Mrs. Eugene Armbruster of
Raleigh was kind enough to send
me this recipe with a nice little
note. Both are appreciated and I
hope you make some rolls by these ■
directions. They are extra good.
