Page Four Used Shoes to Be Sent To European Children An intensive collection campaign ; will be carried on by Zebulon Boy Scouts tomorrow in an effort to help Wake County Boy Scouts col lect 10,000 or more pairs of usable shoes to be sent to needy children in devastated Europe. Children in Europe have been unable to attend school this win ter because of the lack of shoes during the terribly cold weather of the severe winter months. The scarcity of shoes in much of Germany is so acute that frequent Personals Mrs. Nell Gray Harris of Knox ville Tenn., was a recent visitor of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bell. Miss Judith Robertson was home last weekend from Virginia Inter mont College, Bristol, Va., where she is a senior. She returned to her classes Monday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Lee Gladden and daughter, Jean, of Seaford, Delaware, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Zollie N. Culpepper this week. M.. and Mrs. Joseph H. Any kind of shoes, from baby shoes to shoes for grown-ups, will be acceptable. The heavier types that will best stand cold weather are, of course, more desirable. Anyone having shoes which can be sent to aid the European chil dren is asked to telephone 4231, and leave word with Scoutmaster Barrie Davis. Scouts of Troop 40 will pick the shoes up. Hospital. Mrs. Massey is the for mer Rachel Horton of Zebulon.. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Woodard of Bullard, Texas, announce the birth of a daughter, Charlotte Marie, on October 18. Mrs. Wood ard is the former Marie Murray, daughter of Mr. J. A. Murray of Zebulon and the late Mrs. Murray. Mrs. S. G. Flowers expects to return home the thirteenth of No vember. She is visiting her daugh ter, Mrs. Matthew Liles, Jr., of Washington, D. C. Mrs. Tom Kilkelly of Greens boro sang several selections at the Dental Banquet held in the Sir Walter Hotel. Miss Jocelyn House The Zebulon Record 1 was accompanist. Mrs. Kilkelly is the former Grace Coltrane, daugh ter of Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Coltrane of Zebulon. Miss Jocelyn House will be the piano accompanist for a broadcast over WNAO November 16 by Pro fessor Grieves, violin teacher at the State School for the Blind. Friday, November 5,1948 Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hales of Newport News, Va., are the par ents of a daughter born on Thurs day of last week. The baby is the third granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hales. Mrs. J. M. Whitley is in Raleigh with relatives this week. Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Miles of Gladys, Va., were visitors on Tues day in the home of their aunt, Mrs. Theo B. Davis.
