Page Two Around the Community On Wednesday, November 3, Mrs. Urtrice Carter left for Kan napolis to visit her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Cowan, and the B. T. Nobles family. She also went to Boone to visit Betty Loy, return ing home November 15 after a wonderful trip. Betty Lou Carter arrived No vember 24 to spend Thanksgiving with her mother. Mrs. John D. Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Privette, Miss Gayle and Dottie Privette, returned Sun day from New Brunswick, N. J., where they attended the wedding of Robert Kemp Horton to Miss Gertrude Wohl. The marriage rites were solemnized in the First Baptist Church on Saturday. Recent visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Pulley were Mr. and Mrs. Walter McFarland of Raleigh. They have lived in Florida for the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Chalmers. Mrs. Gertrude Chalmers Harp, and Mrs. Harp’s youngest son, with his wife from Chester, Pa., were visi tors in the James Pulley home this week. Mr. and Mrs. James Pulley and small son, Alan Flowers, went to Mary Elizabeth Hospital Sunday to see Mr. Mitchell, the father of Mrs. Jesse F. Pulley, who is seri ously ill. Rev. Carl Bjork will preach at Wakefield Sunday morning at eleven o’clock. The general meeting of the Bap tist W. M. S. for November will be held at the church next Monday afternoon.
