Friday, December 3,1948 Mrs. Rhodes Tells Folks About Wakefield Doings Services for Sunday, December 5, 1948: 10:00 a. m. Sunday School 6:30 p. m. Young Peoples Union. We had only 81 at Sunday School last Sunday. We excuse you this time because it was so rough, but be sure and be here next Sun day. It won’t be long before a new year comes in. I do hope we will turn over a new leaf and make an effort to attend Sunday School and church more in the future than we have in the past. We had Prof. Carl Bjork of Pi lot preach for us Sunday. He gave us a wonderful message on “Brok en Homes in the Bible.” He really made a good sermon out of it. There were lots of broken homes in the Bible and the same is also here on this old earth—lots more than we ever dreamed of. I don’t see why everyone can’t be satisfied as good as times are and as much as we all have to eat and drmk and wear and spend and use and go and splurge and spree. It seems that the whole world is going to the dogs or the devil as fast as time can carry them. This is a grand old world, if it had the right kind of people in it. Rev. and Mrs. McCrimmon moved last Monday a week ago. I had a letter from her and she said they were settled in their new home. H. A. also had a letter from him. I regret very much losing them. I feel like it’s the greatest loss we have had in our church in quite a while. I wish them God speed in the work there and a Happy Christmas.
