Collection to Be Made
For Friendship Train at
Pilot Sunday Afternoon
On Sunday afternoon a Friend
ship Train is coming through our
community to collect food for the
World Relief. Franklin County
has a goal which the y wish to
reach so let’s all respond to the
worthy cause.
On Sunday afternoon also the
B. T. U. is having its mass meet
ing at Mt. Zion Church. Some of
our members plan to attend.
Our supper went over with a
bang on Saturday night. The pro
ceeds of $220 went toward our new
church buildings.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Alford of
Raleigh were home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Garland Poole of
Garner were visiting with Helen
Greene Sunday.
We are very sorry to hear that
Mrs. Mill Perry is in Duke Hos
pital where she is undergoing an
operation. We hope she will soon
be well enough to come home
again. We certainly miss her at
our church service.
We are sorry to hear of Mr.
Bearl Carlyle’s accident. He was
cutting logs for our church when
he broke his leg. We hope he
will soon be well and out.
Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Williams,
Mrs. Oomie Bunn, Max Williams
and Evelyn Spencer spent a couple
of days with Mr. and Mrs. Rob
ert Garvey in Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Bunn, Max and Evelyn also
went to Brooklyn, N. Y., on the
trip.
The Parent Teachers Associa
tion will hold its regular monthly
meeting on Tuesday night, and
afterwards Mr. Bjork will show
a movie.
Mr. Garland Pearce is also on
our sick list this week.
The W. M. U. will hold its regu
lar meeting on Saturday night in
the home of Mrs. Calvin Spain.
On Friday night they are hav
ing their regular week of prayer
in the home of Mrs. Rona Cone.
