Friday, December 10, 1948 The Girls Auxiliary met Satur day afternoon at the Crossroads The topic of the program was “Making Christmas Truly the Birthday of Christ.” It was a very interesting program. We also sang Christmas carols. There were 16 members and one visitor present. Our next meeting will be held the third Saturday after noon in December. At that time «Mrs. Morgan, our pastor’s wife, Lvill teach a study course. The Hopkins Chapel W. M. U. will meet Saturday afternoon at the Crossroads. We hear that Lester Perry. Warren Fowler, and Mrs. Lucy Hodge are ill. We hope they will soon be well. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Cope and Dorothy Lee visited Mrs. Iris Tem ple Siinday night and went to church here. We were very glad to have them at church and hope they will come again sometime. Mrs. Ed Boker fell Monday and injured her shoulder. We have hope she’ll get well real soon so she can go fishing again. The only person I know who likes to fish better than Mrs. Baker is Mrs. Vera Rhodes. We cannot give our gifts to Christ except by giving as the Bible says, “to one of the least of these.” If we have nothing else to be thankful for this year, we can thank God for sparing our country from starva tion and for enough clothes to keep from freezing. There are so many children in other lands who would appreciate shoes and clothes from our bountiful supply. —Velva Irby D. Gill Attorney and Counselor at Law Dr. J. F.
