When we were cffDViren, we would save the blad der when the hogs were killed and would roll it on a board till we could blow it full of air with a quill until it was almost as large as a water pail. Then we tied it and hung it up to dry. Sometimes we put a few peas in it to rat tle. We kept it till Christmas morning, when we put it on the ground in front of my grandmoth er’s door and jumped from her front steps on the bladder. We got as much fun with our loud guns as the children do now with firecrackers. And another noise that took the place of firecrackers was a plank on the level ground. Mr. and Mrs. John Moody of I PRICE OF SOCIALISM TOO HIGH We took a course in logic one time, and learned that we should never try to argue a generality from a particular. We also learned that when we get enough particulars, they constitute a generality. Ten years ago we used to pay around a hundred j dollars a month for lights and power. Today we use considerably more electricity and pay less for it. Over in England the government socialized the power industry six months ago, and in that six months the cost to consumers has increased 50 per cent. This case is a particular. Taken with other par ticulars such as the spiraling British cost of living, the increasing cost of government, and the general inefficiency of nationalized British industry, it con stitutes a generality that living is neither as pleas ant nor as profitable under socialism as it is under the free enterprise system of America. \y| From THI ZEBULON RECORD, Zebulon, N.
