Page Six LIZARD LICK NEWS Hephzibah Church holds its Training Union now each Sunday night at seven o’clock and preach ing follows at 8 o’clock. The Home Demonstration Club \teld its meeting last Thursday p.m. at the Community Center. Many were present and it was en joyed by all. Last Sunday was children’s day at the church. All the children were in the choir that could get space and sitting around the front. Rev. Joe KF. Roach dedicated his sermon to them and every child that would, took part in singing and reciting poems and scripture verses. It was so wonderful to see those little ones at their best and about their Father’s business. I think it made the older people feel a little ashamed because they could have done no better them selves. * Among our sick th : s week are little Janis Carter, infant daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter, Mr. G? C. Honeycutt and Miriam Rose Starnes. We wish them a speedy recovery. Mrs. Pat Horton and Mr. Luther Liles are on the road to recovery after a few days illness. We trust they will continue improving. Mrs. Stancy Gay is under the doctors care at the present. She is up and about but isn’t well at all. May she soon be feeling fine. Miss Frances Martin was hon ored at a shower last Friday night at the Community Center and over a hundred guests were present. She received many beautiful gifts and everyone had an enjoyable evening. She is a bride-to-be in the near future to Mr. Richard Honeycutt of Wendell. Mrs. Hinnani Honored Mrs. Harry Hinnant was honor ed by her children at a surprise birthday dinner in her home Sun day. She was 52 years of age and those to enjoy it were her child ren, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Lane, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ray Hinnant and her children of Wendell, Mr. and Mrs. Red Horton of Knight dale, and John Ashley Hinnant of the home. May she have many more even happier than the one just past. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moody of Raleigh were the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Moody of Raleigh spent the weekend with her parents, Mr and Mrs. J. B. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Otha Brannon spent a short while Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Parrish of near Rolesville have moved in this community. We welcome them in our midst. Mr. Charles Perry and Mr. B. J. Pulley of Zebulon visited in this section Sunday. Little Butch Hedricks of Knight dale spent Sunday afternoon with Rossie and Ronnie Gay. Mrs. Alphus Hobgood and daughter, Dianne, were guests of Mrs. Leonard Dean of Eagle Rock last Tuesday. They visited rela tives and friends in Wage For est on that afternoon. Miss Janis Sue Strickland was honored at her sixteenth birthday party last Thursday night at the Community Center. Hostesses were Mrs. George Currin, Mrs. Maggie Strickland and Mrs. Juli ous Carroll. The decoration colors were green, white and yellow and theh refreshments were ice cream, cake and orange juice.
