Page Two PLEASANT HILL NEWS The hot weather didn’t stop the people from turning out to church Sunday. In spite of the heat and the hard work during the past week many were there for the sevrices. We were so happy to see so many take part and make such an effort. We welcome all of you visitors. ' Our heart felt sympathy goes out to Mrs. James Honeycutt be cause of the loss of her father, Mr. Jesse Sneads of New Hill on Thurs day of last week. Mr. Ivan Gay Jr. is at this time in Rex Hospital recovering from injuries received in an automobile accident last Saturday night. Miss Frances Hamilton of Raleigh was also injured in the same accident and hospitalized. We trust their condition isn’t serious and they will soon be well again. The deacons meeting at Hephzi bah will be held next Friday night at 8:00 in the church basement. We urge all deacons to be present. Those to enjoy a delicious barbe cue dinner of chicken at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fuller Sun day were, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Al ford and children. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Parrish and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gay and son. Everyone had a fine time even though the hot weather and hot sauce didn’t make such a good combination. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hurley and Mrs. J. M. Hurley of Cary, Mr. Herbert Alford of Raleigh, and Mrs. Robert Martin of Bethany Community visited in this section a while Sunday afternoon. Many of this section called on Mrs. E. A. Ray of Zebulon late Sunday p.m. Among them were: Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Alford and children. Hobgood during the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Wall of Camp Butner, Mr. Edward and Myrtie Hobgood of Wake Forest, also Mrs. Leonard Dean and daughter of Eagle Rock. Mrs. B. J. Wigg’s mother, Mrs. Williford is spending sometime vvisiting with her in this section. Many called in the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Whitakers Sunday. The Training Union is a vital organization in our church. We want to train our boys and girls to be good church members when they become Christians. They will find it worth while. The opening of last Sunday nights Training Union was a short discussion of “Discipline In The Unions.” Much excitment happened in this community during the past week and many have expected to find it in this column this week as had been requested by many. We feel that such things aren’t for public reading and should be set tled by their own parties and is no concern of outsiders. Its not a duty for me to fulfill for I wish only to do the best in writing this and I don’t wish to put any bear ing on anyone and I do hope those that read this each week don’t ex pect to find such here. Anything you feel will be worth while and make pleasure for all readers will I’m sure De found here and not heartaches and dissapointments.
