1 PILOT NEWS Well, the year of 1950 has be gun, and we’re hoping it will be a year of health, happiness, and prosperity for everyone. Everyone is busy getting his plant beds ready for planting. It won’t be long now before every one will really be farming again. Mrs. Milton Griffin and Sido of Jamesville, N. C., are spending a couple of days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Phil lip* Mrs. Floyd Stallings is leaving on Wednesday for a trip to Flori da for two weeks. Mrs. Ted Hensley of Raleigh will spend a couple of weeks here. Mrs. Clifton Perry, Mrs. Milt Perry, and Mrs. Clifford Perry visited with Mrs. Hubert Bunn on Sunday night. Master Mike Brooks celebrated his birthday with a few of his friends in his home on Saturday afternoon. Little Dorothy Spann had a birthday party in her Sunday School class with her little friends present. The Woman’s Club held its monthly meeting on Thursday af ternoon in the home of Mrs. Will Perry. They received a lot of nice things, and I’m sure they appreci ate everyone of them. Mrs. Pearce is the former Hilda Mae Perry. Mr. Floyd Lewis is on our sick list this week. Mr. Lewis is in Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount, where he is suffering from a heart ailment. We wish for him a speedy recovery. Mrs. Nina Martin is still con valescing. Remember to go to the church of your choice on Sunday. This is the first time these two teams have met this year. Carlton Mitchell and Hilliard Greene are expected to lead the local cagers. They scored 51 of Zebulon’s points last weekend. Edsel Privette, A. K. Ray, and Jimmy Spivey will likely com plete the starting lineup. Privette was third high man in scoring last week.
