Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bee kand children spent Sunday in Wilson with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Ben Mercer. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Barrow and Mrs. W. C. Campen have returned from a visit to Florida. Mrs. James Coleman and son, Jimmie of Richmond, Va., are Spending this week with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Barrow. Bill Brantley was home for the weekend from Wake Forest Col lege. Mr. D. C. Pearce remains in a serious condition at McGuire Gen eral Hospital in Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Drum and daughter, Kay, of Fayetteville, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beck. Mrs. Thurman Murray has been sick all week with flu. Mr. Riggsbee Massey is sick in bed with flu. Mrs. L. E. Long is sick in bed with a severe cold. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Collie of Rocky Mount will spend tonight with Mr. and Mrs. Avon Privett. They are returning from a two months’ visit with their daughter in Venezuela, South America. Mrs. Collie is the former Foy Whitley. Mary Fisher Finch was home for the weekend from Greensboro College. S. G. Flowers, James Debnam, i and Bob Brown were home for the weekend from Campbell College. Mrs. Ruric Gill has been sick in bed with flu this week. Donald Mason has returned to Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. Mrs. Lelia Yarborough of Spring Hope has been spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Mary Outlaw. Miss Helen Wall has accepted a position with Carolina Power and Light Company here. Miss Dorothy Bryant of Raleigh spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Debnam. J. C. Debnam is attending the N. C. Ice Convention in Raleigh, which was held Monday and to day. Mrs. Carl Glover of R. 1, Zebu lon, is in Rex Hospital, following a major operation Thursday. The little nephew of Mrs. Don ald Stallings, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Pearce of Raleigh, is in Rex Hospital following an operation for ruptured appendix. The child is not quite two years old.
