Tuesday, March 21, 1950 Personal Items Mrs. C. E. Flowers is visiting her son, Charles, Jr., in Baltimore, Md., this week. O. B. Spivey, Jr., of Norfolk, Va., spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. O. B. Spivey. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Poindex kr of Winston-Salem and Miss ■ancy Whitley of W. C. U. N. C. Ppent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Whitley. Mrs. Charles Flowers is in Bal timore, Md. visiting her son, Dr. Chas. E. Flowers, Jr. for a few days. Charles Horton of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N. J., is home for a few days with his parents. Miss Joyce Temple of the Hen derson school faculty was home for the weekend. The Claude Dunns spent Sunday in Fountain. Rev. and Mrs. Kermit Combs and children of Wakefield are all sick with flu. Mr. Claude Cook, organist for the Baptist Church/, had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ho cutt Sunday. Mack Hocutt was home for the weekend with his parents. He played the organ for the evening service at the Baptist Church Sun day. Dr. and Mrs. B. D. Thomas and baby and Mr. and Mrs. Howard JJeck went to Norfolk, Va., Sun day to visit Mrs. Joe Florence, Dr. Thomas’ sister, who is in the hospital. Percy Lewis of Wendell is in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beck spent the weekend in Wilson. Raymond E. Pippen of Arling ton, Virginia, visited friends and relatives in Zebulon Saturday and Sunday. Jimmie Wiggs, former manager of W'akelon Theatre, has accepted a position as advance agent of The Lawton Story, a cinematic life of (Christ. Loomis Parrish spent the week end in Raleigh. Hostess at Bridge Mrs. E. V. Rountree was hostess to her bridge club and guests on Thursday night. Her home was decorated with beautiful arrange ments of jonquils and spirea. Mrs. Ralph Talton was winner of high score and floating prizes and Mrs. Rom Moser won low prize. Mrs. Garland Godwin, a guest, was presented a gift. The hostess served delicious re freshments of blueberry tarts with whipped cream, sandwiches, pickle, cheese biscuits, and cof fee. ' Guests were Mesdames Ralph I Talton, Howard Beck.
