Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul. A beautiful weekend just passed and many were out for church. As the Spring weather approaches many are getting in the church go ing habit. Remember the church hours at Hephzibah: Sunday School at 10 and preaching at 11 a. m. every Sunday. The Training Union at 7:00 each Sunday night. Evening message by the pastor, J. F. Roach at 8 p. m. You are needed in these ser vices. Come and perhaps some one will follow you. Bring some one with you. So glad Mrs. Molly Privette is improved from last week after suf fering with flu. Mrs. Bryant Gay is sick with flu. My best to her and may a recovery soon be hers. Mrs. George Yancey still remains ill and shows very little improve ment. We trust she will recover so very soon. Mrs. Floyd Johnson called on her doctor who has been treating her injured knee last Friday. While there she was taken ill and rushed to Rex Hospital where she under went a minor operation. She is much improved and has returned home to complete her recovery. Our best to her. Little Steve Perry gave his mo ther an awful scare last week. When she placed him in his bath on Wednesday a. m. a mass of bumps appeared all over him. She called on neighbors to ask them his trouble, some said Measles, some said poison and many other things but a trip to the doctor told the true tale. He had a bad case of mad itch which came from a penicillin shot given him during a recent illness. He’s doing fine now. Ann Alford had as her Sunday guest Mary Harris of the Taberna cle Community. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dyer and son of Wendell visited in this sec tion during the ■weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gay and Ronnie, Mrs. P. W. Wood and Sally Ann were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Horton of New Hill Sunday af ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Carter and Janice and Mr. Jodie Wood visited Mr. and Mrs. Ennice Puryear of near Rolesville Sunday. Mr. Otha Carter of Franklinton was a Sunday visitor of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wood and baby, Jean, called in this section for the weekend. They are from Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Perry of Raleigh were the weekend guests of their son, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Perry, Jr., and family. Miss Josephine and Mr. Shelton Wood and Mr. Gerald Wayne Perry were visitors in Raleigh Sunday p. m. Mrs. W. M. Joyner of Ffaleigh is spending a few days with Mrs Bryant Gay. Mr. and Mrs. Everette Whitaker of New Jersey, Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Whitaker and children of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hood of Zebulon were the Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Starnes. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fuller and Millie accompanied by Miss Nellie Fuller of Zebulon called on Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Perry of Barhams Com munity near Rolesville Sunday af ternoon. Mrs. Milton Dean and Mrs. Stancey Gay returned home with Trigg Harrison last Friday to Portsmouth, Va. They plan to re turn the first of this week. May their’s be a joyous and successful trip. Mr. Edd Fowler visited Mr. and Mrs. Roger Privette Sunday. Mr. Arthur Johnson purchased a new Ford on Friday of last week. Mr. Sanford Pearce purchased a new Chevrolet a week or so ago. Smooth riding to all of them. It has been called to my atten tion that Mr. Aulander Puryear Is ill and in the hospital. Trust he will soon recover. Mrs. Ernest Parrish and children attended the birthday dinner at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Carter of Zebulon Route 1. This was Mr. A. E. Carter’s birth day and his son Milford Carter of Durham. Every one carried lunch and spread it together and enmyed a good old fashioned feast. Many of this section are attend ing the revival meeting at the Tab ernacle and we do appreciate it and know there is much enjoyment in the services and special sing ing. Having put in most of my time at the Tabernacle through the weekend and this week I have failed in the church news from Hephzibah. lam hoping to get more church news in next week, God willing. Go to church some where next Sunday. Mrs. Polly Fuller Tabernacle Send a revival, O Christ my Lord Let it go over the land and sea, Send it according to Thy dear Word, And let it begin in Me. There is a revival meeting each night this week at the Tabernacle Church and the time is 7:30 in stead of 7:00 which was in last week’s paper. This new time will give more people who work, a bet ter chance to attend. We do want every one to come and feel wel come. Rev. Thurman Stone who preaches over the Dunn radio sta tion each Sunday and is pastor of the Penson Baptist Church is con ducting these services aided by the pastor Wayne Poole. This meet ing has just begun but the church has almost been filled. We hope by the last of the week to secure extra seats. There will be spec ial singing during the week of ser vices. Come and invite some one to come with you. Many visitors were at church last Sunday for Sunday School and the Sunday night service. The pas tor’s mother and sister along with other friends were there Sunday night. Mr. Douglass Cooke, U. S. Army forces was there for the day and night services and many oth ers. We welcome all of you. The barbecue supper given to the Young Women’s Sunday Sc hool Class by the Young Men was very nice and turned out fine inspite afternoon Saturday, of the cold weather in the late ardson, teacher of the Young Wo- Last Sunday Mrs. Pervis Rich men’s Class taught a combination class of the young men and wo men, in the Men’s Class room. The men have been invited to visit the Young Women and teach them in a near future Sunday. Many compliments were given to Mrs. Richardson by the men for teaching such a wonderful lesson. The W. M. S. was called to gether after Sunday School by the president. A discussion of business was brought up and voted on. Each person that would and could were asked to bring white linens to do nate to the White Cross Hospital, or either money. This was to be at the church by Tuesday of this week Mrs. Lovie Cooke suggested to order plates to hang on the wall in homes with the picture of our church painted on them. These are to be sold and the money used for the W. M. S. treasury and to help secure books for our new library. These will be a cherished memory for our children as well as to beautify our homes. The next W. M. S. meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Lovie Cooke in Zebulon on the first Wed nesday night in May. Don’t for get. The R. A.’s, G. A.’s, and Sun beams will meet at the church Friday night, April 28th. Remem ber this date also. We wish to remember the sick: Mr. Tommie Holder is improved. Mr. Berry Hinnant is still ill but his condition is not known just now. Mrs. Eplon Tippett has been a patient at Rex Hospital where she underwent an operation, but is now improving at home.
