Tuesday, April 25,1950 Person a l Items Mrs. C. H. Daniels of Green wich, Conn, and Mrs. Belcher and son of Alexandria, Va., sister and niece of Mrs. W. C. Campen, spent last weekend with her. Mrs. C. P. Mitchell of Elizabeth City and Mrs. Vernon Powers of Wendell are visiting in St. Peters burg, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. House and Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Coltrane vis ited the Duke Gardens on Sunday. Miss Betsy Shamburger and Mr. Dick Eggleston spent the weekend in the home of the Pittman Stells. Mr. and Mrs. Carter Studdert were at the Pittman Stells this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hinton and baby daughter, spent the weekend with Mi. and Mrs. A S. Hinton. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sawyer and children visited her sister in Dur ham Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin McConeghy of Greenville, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beck. Messrs. Howard and Gilbert Beck visited their mother, who is ill in Thomasville, Sunday. Mrs. Durwood Stallings returned from Watts Hospital in Durham last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Hagwood an nounce the birth of a son, Martin Luther, Jr., on April 16, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Mr. Ferd Davis is attending a Board of Conservation and Devel opment meeting in Goldsboro part of this week. The Ted Davises visited friends and relatives in Zebulon Sunday. Mrs. Rachel Milam was surpris ed with a birthday supper at her home last week. Attending were members of her family and Mrs. Dorothy Glover. She was show ered with many beautiful gifts. Mrs Gregory Hostess Mrs. Helen Gregory entertained her bridge club at a lovely party at the Teacherage Saturday night. Arrangements of flowering Crab apple decorated the living room. After several progressions high score prize was won by Miss Mary Lacy Palmer, low by Mrs. Lois Wall, and Mrs. Irby Gill the “for fun” prize. Delicious refreshments of straw berry shortcake, nuts and coffee ■were served by the hostess. Present were Mesdames Lois Wall, Ben Thomas, Irby Gill, Gar land Godwin, Eugene Privette, and Misses Alma Lewis and Mary Lacy Palmer. Bridge Party ™Mrs. J. F. Coltrane was hostess to the Wednesday Afternoon Club at her home last week. Pansies, narcissus, and other blooming flow ers and potted plants decorated her house. | Phesent were Mesdames C. E. Flowers, F. L. Page, John Horton, A. R. House. J. G. Kemp, F. E. Bunn, E. H. Moser, and E. C. Dan iel. Delicious refreshments of chick en salad, pickle, potato chips, cher ry tarts with whipped cream, hot rolls and coffee, were served by the hostess. STARS OF TOMORROW DANCE REVUE by Mrs. H. C. Wade's Dance Classes WEDNESDAY, MAY 10 8:00 P.M. Wakelon School Auditorium Hostess at Bridge Mrs. Frank Massey was hostess to her bridge club and guests at her new home in Wakefield Fri day night. Beautiful arrange ments of cut flowers decorated her home. At the conclusion of bridge high score prize was presented Miss Zy ba Massey, low to Mrs. Glynn Dickerson. A delicious dessert course was served by the hostess. Present were Mesdames Wilbur Debnam, Glynn Dickerson, Bob Sawyer, Willard Gill, A. S. Hin ton, Vance Brown, and Misses Ru by Dawson and Zyba Massey. Sister Honored Mrs. Rochelle Long, Mrs. Mo zelle Upchurch and Mrs. Wilbur Hales of Wilson, honored their sis ter, Mrs. Billy Ferrell, the former Wynelle Strickland, at a miscel laneous shower at the home of Mrs. Long Saturday night. A green and white color scheme | wrs carried out in the decorations. The mantel was adorned with greenery and bride dolls in a very : original manner. Many games were played and prizes given for each. Refreshments of individual brid al cakes, mints, potato chips, pickle, ribbon sandwiches, ham sandwiches and coca colas were served by the hostesses. About 1 forty guests were present. Entertains at Bridge Mrs. Ferd Davis was hostess to her bridge club on Wednesday af ternoon. Arrangements of iris, nar j cissus, verbena, pansies and spi rea decorated the living room where two tables of bridge were in play. Mrs. Wallace Chamblee was pre sented high score for club mem bers, Mrs. Eldred Rountree high score for guests and Mrs. Vance Brown low score prize. Refreshments of pineapple tart, nuts, pickle, and coffee were serv ed by the hostess. • Playing were Mesdames Eugene Privette, Robert Dawson, Vance Brown, Wallace Temple, Wallace i Chamblee, R. H. Brantley, Wilson Braswell and Eldred Rountree. Mrs. Lowry Hostess Mrs. Aaron Lowry was hostess to her bridge club last week at her home. Beautiful arrangements of spring flowers decorated her home. At the conclusion of play high ! score prize was presented Mrs. Agnes Hawkins; low to Mrs. Fran j cis Wade and floating to Mrs. El wood Mintz. Very beautiful and original re j freshments depicting a spring gar den, were served by the hostess. Playing were Mesdames Elwood Mintz, Thurman Murray, Francis Wade, Charles Hawkins, Harry Patton. Bert Peoples. Frank Coi ner and C. L. Matheny. Refresh ment guests were Mrs. A. A. Pip pin, Jr., and Mrs. Allan Pippin. The Zebulon Record Family Reunion The family of Hubert Eddins all met at his home to help him cele brate his sixty-seventh birthday with a picnic dinner. The children present were Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Fuller of Louisburg, N. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Berdon Eddins and Andrea Lee and Robert Joe; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Eddins, Katie Joyce and Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Strickland and Leslie; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farrington and Floyd; Savon Eddins, Lois Eddins and Braxton Eddins, all of Zebu lon, R.
