Miss Melba Strickland of the Wakelon faculty spent the week end at home in Godwin. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Godwin spent the weekend in Godwin with Mr. Godwin’s mother. Claude Lee Dunn was operated on for appendicitis at Carolina General Hospital in Wilson Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Barrow, Jr., and children of Ahoskie, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kennedy and chil dren of Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Coleman and children of Rich mond, Va., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Barrow. Mrs. Coleman and children will spend this week in Zebulon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beck and children visited her parents in Wilson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hadley and son of Greenville spent the week end with her parents, the M. J. Sextons. Mr. Howard Bunn of Peachland visited relatives in Zebulon over the weekend. Davis in the Louis burg Hospital Sunday. He has been seriously ill but is much improved. The Barkton Antones and daughter, Kay, came in the afternoon. Mrs. C. V. Whitley left Saturday for Boonvil’e to visit her parents, the M. V. Flemings. She stopped in Greensboro for her daughter, Nancy, senior at WCUNC, who went to Boonville for the week end. Mr. Whitley plans to return Tuesday evening. Mrs. Howard Massey’s weekend guest was her sister, Mrs. Pearson of Apex. Mother’s Day visitors in the C. M. Watson home were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Watson and two children from Fayetteville; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Watson and two children from Franklinton; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Watson and three children from Bailey. Mrs. Clarence Watson, with Miss Sal mon at the organ, played the vio line at the Baptist Church Sun day morning. The selection was “Panis Angelicus” by Franck. Betty Lou Carter was his godmother, and Dennis Brantley, his godfather. Mrs. T. M. Conn had her chil dren home for Mother’s Day. Mrs. Turrentine will return to Bell Buckle the last of this week but will come back to Zebulon when the Methodist Church is dedicated in June. Guests in the home of Mrs. O. B. Spivey for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Miller and chil dren, Judy and Donnie, and O. 8., Jr., of Norfolk. Donnie remained for a visit. Entertain at Bridge Mrs. Ben Thomas was hostess to her bridge club Thursday at her home. Beautiful arrangements of iris, roses, and snapdragone deco rated the living room where three tables of bridge were in play. High score awards were won by Mrs. Irby Gill and Mrs. Howard Beck.
