Tuesday, June 12, 1951 PERSONAL ITEMS Mr. and Mrs. E. S. White and son, E. S. White, Jr., visited Mrs. Ollie W. Pearce and family Sun day, June 10. Mrs. Pearce and the E. S. Whites also visited Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Green in Farmville, N. C., during the late afternoon. C. G. Weathersby and Charles Allen Weathersby have gone to Tifton, Ga., on a business trip. Mrs. C. G. Weathersby is spending the week with her sister, Miss Martha Williams, in Clover, Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Fleetwood and Mrs. I. W. Myers of Tifton, Ga., were weekend guests of the C. G. Weathersbys. Bill Brantley is spending a few days with the R. H. Brantleys in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Coressa Chamblee spent the weekend in Raleigh with Mrs. John Liles of Sanford, who is attending an institute at Peace College. The teen-agers will continue to meet at the Woman’s Club house every Saturday night, but the party will be under the chaperonage of the local rec reation commission instead of members of the clubs as for merly. Mrs. Mary Peeples has returned to Zebulon after visiting relatives for two weeks. Mrs. Neil Goodnight and chil dren returned to Gastonia Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Rom Moser of Ral eigh spent the weekend in Zebu lon with the E. H. Mosers. Miss Elizabeth Salmon has taken a room in the home of Mrs. Mary Peoples. Mrs. Pattie Harris is improving. She has been confined to her bed for the past two weeks. Miss Ann Harris of Fountain re turned home Friday after being here for two weeks with her grandmother, Mrs. Pattie Harris. Mrs. Sam Harris of Wilmington and Mr. and Mrs. Zeb Hargett of Charlotte visited in the F. D. Finch home Monday. Dave Finch is attending a six weeks summer school at the Uni versity of North Carolina. Notice to members of the Senior and Junior Woman’s Clubs: Please tie all newspapers and magazines together and leave them on the back porch of the clubhouse. They will be collected from there every two weeks. Dr. Royster Chamblee of Ral eigh visited the Exum Chamblees during the weekend. Dr. and Mrs. Sigma Finch of Oxford visited Mrs. J. D. Finch Sunday. The Robert Dawsons and Miss Olive Winstead spent the weekend in Ransomville. Miss Olive Winstead will go to Ransomville today to spend two weeks. , Mrs. A. S. Hinton spent last week in Durham. Mrs. Pearl Massey visited her sister, Mrs. C. M. Lawrence in Creedmoor Sunday. The Little River Camp of the WOW will meet Wednes day, June 13, at 8 o’clock in the Boy Scout Hut. All Sov ereigns are urged to attend. Mrs. Merritt Massey, Miss Beth Massey and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bryant spent Sunday in Creed moor with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Debnam and family moved to Milledgeville, Ga., on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Rountree attended a wedding in Gatesville during the weekend. Mr. Frank Coiner is taking a refresher course at Wake Forest College this summer for the bar examinations in August. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Stott of Burlington and Mrs. Edith Freeze attended the Booth-Haskins wed ding in Rocky Mount Saturday. Wilber Conn is home on leave from Camp Rucker, Ala. A tobacco plant with a tap root measuring 19 inches long was found by D. P. Tant of Route 3, in his plant bed on Friday of last week. This is the longest reported to date. Eddins, Sr., and Mr. Sidney Eddins have returned home from Columbus, Ohio, where they attended the graduation of Mr. Mike Eddins from The Ohio State University on Friday, June 8.
