Friday, July 20, 1951 LIZARD LICK NEWS The attendance at Hephzibah was fine Sunday. It’s still in the 200 mark in the Sunday School. It’s worship hour every Sunday, too. Sometimes everyone gets poor in doing things. Like a wheelbarrow —no good unless we are pushed. Remember the time of revival, the first Sunday in September. Keep this date in mind and pray about it continuously. The Y. W. A. is to be congratu lated on the fine work they are doing. Keep in mind Homecoming and Harvest Day. Soon the time will be here. Prepare all your selec tions now for Harvest Day. We have several on our sick list. Mrs. R. P. Privette fell at her home Saturday and injured her self. Mr. R. P. Privette fell Sunday a.m. but was not injured very much. Mrs. George Yancey is in Rex Hospital. She has been in ill health sometime but recently fell from her bed and fractured her hip. Mr. and Mrs. Rome Honeycutt and Rose and Mrs. Elwood Frice and sons were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fuller and Millie on Thursday afternoon of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Roland H. Hill and children of Raleigh were the Sat urday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fuller and Millie. Mr. and Mrs. Wayon Alford and children of the Corinth Holders section were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Alford on Wednes day of last week. Mrs. A. C. Hobgood and Dianne called on Mrs. W. E. Fuller a short while Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Witt and children of Patterson, N. J., are spending a few days with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wiggs. Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Hocutt of near Selma were weekend visitors in this section. Mr. Jodie Wood spent a few days in Kentucky last week. Mrs. Silas Gay and Shirley accompanied him. Mr. and Mrs. Hervey Hamilton and children and Mr. ar.d Mrs. Wayon Alford and children, all of the Corinth Holders section, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Alford. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Johnson are moving into this community shortly from Wendell. We hope they enjoy their stay here. Since Mr. Johnson is in business here it will be much nearer his work. We welcome them in our midst as neighbors. Miss Mary Harris of the Taber nacle section spent Sunday with Miss Ann Alford. Mrs. Lily Creech and son, Roland of Philadelphia, Pa., arrived Wed nesday of last week and left Mon day. They visited her sister, Mrs.. H. L. Hinnant, and others while here. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Wood ac companied Mr. Floyd V. Johnson to South Carolina for the weekend. Need Another Bathroom? Bill Strickland Dial 3791 Zebulon Mr. T. Y. Puryear, Jr., was in jured in an accident as he was re turning home from Morehead City. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hinnant ac companied Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Horton to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson’s Sunday afternoon for a visit. The Johnsons live near Lake Wendell. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Perry of near Rolesville called on the W. E. Fullers Monday night. Many friends and relatives call ed to see Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Priv ett during the weekend. Among these were: Mrs. Martha Weathers of Rolesville, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Privette of Wendell, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Pearce, Mrs. Jimmy Wootten of Wendell and others. The showers of rain during the weekend were a great blessing to the crops so much in n ?ed of rain. PLEASANT HILL NOTES We were pleased to have 214 present last Sunday. Thanks to those who are working so faithful to keep the attendance up. Use the telephone and keep them awake to the good work. The Young Women’s Business Society met with Mrs. Thurman Baker Tuesday night with a goodly number. Our pastor would like for you to tell him or leave a note if there are sick ones. We are glad to report Mr. Otho Liles is at home from Duke Hos pital. His son has also returned home in Raleigh from Rex Hos pital. We are sorry Mrs. George Yan cey is back in the hospital and that Mr. Herbert Liles is also sick. Mrs. Zeb Broadwell is not much improved. Mr. Herman Fasset and little daughter. Linda, have returned from Rex to their home in Raleigh. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wall, a son, July 14 at Rex Hos pital. Mrs. Wall is the former Miss Dorothy Whitaker. We are sorry to report T. Y. Puryear, Jr., was in a car wreck last Sunday night and was in a Wilson Hospital until Tuesday af ternoon. He has a fractured arm. It will be some time before he will be back to his work. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Carter and son, Bobby, returned to New Jer sey last Thursday. Mrs. Bryant Gay went back with them to visit her brother, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Whitaker. We are sorry Mr. Whit aker’s afflicted daughter, Emily Dimock, is in Gray Stone Hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jeffreys of Raleigh spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs J. B. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carter of Ral eigh, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Moody of Mitchell Mill and Mrs. Winnie Adkison and sons, Jimmie and Richard, of Kenly were visitors at Mr. Bertie Carter’s Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hood and Mrs. C. M. Rhodes spent the week end in Wallace with Mr. and Mrs. Sammie Sampson. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Wilsiford of Bethany, Mr. A. O. Puryear and Mr. Maynard Puryear of Youngs ville were visitors at Mr. T. Y. Puryear’s Sunday afternoon. Mrs. B. K. Horton. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Pearce, Mrs. A. O. Puryear, and son, Lawrence, went to Rocky Mount and Halifax Sunday. Miss Kay Pate spent the week end in New York. Miss Jeraldine Hood visited Miss Shirley Richards Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Todd spent last week at the beach. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Underhill of Raleigh spent the weekend with Mrs. L. C. Liles. We are sorry Mrs. John Bolton’s hand has not improved enough yet. Glad Mr. James Sledge could be at church Sunday. Mrs. T. Y. Puryear.
