Four BETHANY NEWS We had a good number at church Sunday. For Sunday School, Miss Peggy Jo Phillips read the Scripture and gave a short dis cussion of the lesson. For worship service the pastor delivered a wonderful message taken from Matthew 22. Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s! and unto God the things that are God’s. Our pastor, Kermit Combs vis ited several in this community last week. Many failed to see him be cause th’/ were away barning to bacco. I believe all the sick ones are improving.. Mr. Henry Davis is able to be out again. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Crosby and little daughter of Raleigh visited Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Cox Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Watkins spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Ray. Mr. Rommie Green has our deepest sympathy in the loss of his mother last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Arnold visit ed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Arnold at New Hope Sunday. Mr. P. P. Perry visited Mr. Henry Davis last Monday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. White of Raleigh spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Ruby Williford. A large crowd gathered at Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Deans for a fam ily reunion Sunday. Everyone en joyed the dinner. Little Miss Rose Nelson of Ral eigh is spending the summer with her aunt, Mrs. Kearnie Faison. Look, No Eyebrows! Mr. Ellis Nassiff was severely burned on Monday night of last week while he and some other Le gionnaires were burning a trash pile near the Legion Hut on Owen Street in Wake Forest. When the fire failed to burn as fast as they wanted it to, some one secured some oil to pour on it, Mr. Nassif doing the pouring, and as he did the flame burned his face, arms and legs quite severe ly. He had the presence of mind to lie down on the grass and roll over and over, otherwise he might have been burned much more se riously. Hinton, whose address is 585 Ordnance MAM Company, APO 227, c-o Postmaster, New York, N. Y., placed his call at one o’clock in the morning at Frank furt. He described conditions as generally fair to good in occupied Germany, and stated that he ex pected to be there another year or more. He went to Germany on April 7, 1949.
