Friday, October 26, 1951 PERSONAL >TEMS Graham Conn has returned to his home at Roseboro from the hospital at Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Watson spent Sunday in Fayetteville with the Clarence Watsons. Little Faye Finch has been sick this week with a cold and sore throat. Mrs. M. D. Terry returned from Rex Hospital Tuesday to the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. L. Simp son. Betsy Pope Simpson was home for the weekend from Wake Forest College. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Palmer and daughter of Baltimore, Md., are spending this week with her par ents, the W. L. Simpsons. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Allman vis ited Mrs. Lee Allman in Duke Hos pital Sunday. The Clarence Hocutt family will attend the Homecoming at Friendship Church Sunday. The Richard Scarboros spent last weekend in Cary with Mrs. Scar boro’s mother. Mr. W. L. Gibson returned from Rex Hospital Monday, but is still confined to his bed. Announce Births Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alvin Beck announce the birth of a son, Ger ald Allen, on October 23 at Rex Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Nowell of Raleigh announce the birth of a daughter, Beth, weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces, on October 11. Mrs. Nowell is the former Miss Viola Hopkins of Zebulon. Mrs. James Alford Entertains Her Club Mrs. James Alford was hostess to her bridge club and guests Thursday night. Beautiful fall flowers decorated her living room. After three progressions high and low score prizes for club mem bers were presented Mrs. Bernice Bunn and Mrs. Ralph Talton. High for guests went to Mrs. Garland Godwin and floating prize to Mrs. Carsey Tippett. The hostess served delicious re freshments of fruit cake with whipped cream, sandwiches, pickle and coffee. Playing were Mesdames Bernice Bunn, Ralph Talton, Howard Beck, Carsey Tippett, Garland Godwin, Durham Moore and the hostess.
