Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Alford and son, James, visited the L. F. Per rys Sunday evening. Mr. Hal Perry, student of Louis burg college, spent the weekend with his parents, the J. W. Perrys. He had as his guests two of his school friends from Elizabeth City. Mr. Eric Yeargin of Wendell, Mr. Wilbert Edwards, Mr. E. C. Pearce, Mrs. J. W. Johnson and Mrs. Ethel Pearce went down to Washington, N. C., fishing last Saturday. Sorry, no luck. Mr. and Mrs. Larby Perry had as their dinner guests last Sat urday night, Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Alford, their son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Alford, Jr., and Mrs. Garland Alford. Ray mond,, Jr., has just returned from Korea. Mrs. Alton Perry and Mrs. Pat ty Menga took dinner with Miss Viola Williams at Franlinton. Her son, Wilton, was home from Korea. Mr. and Mrs. Larby Perry and daughters, Barbara Jane and Re becca, visited the Raymond Al fords of Pine Ridge Thursday night. Those on the sick list this week are little Starr Ray, Glenn Perry, Wadell Gay, Mrs. Hilliard Gay and Mrs. Jim Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Ray an nounce the birth of a son, Michael Kent, at Park View Hospital, Rocky Mount, February 27th. Mrs. Ray was the former Miss Paulina Whitley of near Spring Hope. The Y. W. A. met Monday night at the home of Mrs. Lafayette Johnson. There were 23 present. Mrs. Jack Ellington, Mrs. Ben Perry, Mrs. Joe Ray, and Mrs. J. T. Johnson gave the program. The family of Mr. Carol Honey cutt has our deepest sympathy and may you look to God in your hour of grief and sorrow. Mrs. L. D. Perry was visiting in Louisburg Wednesday evening. The Home Demonstration Club had a leader conference meeting all day last Thursday, February 28, at the home of Mrs. J. W. Perry. Mrs. Essal Shaw, the agent gave the duties of each leader and discussed the officers of Franklin County and their duties. At noon lunch was served buffet styl£, which consisted of Swiss steak, creamed potatoes, slaw, dev iled eggs, sweet potato balls, Eng lish peas, pimento sandwiches, rolls and coffee. There were 13 present. Mr. E. C. Pearce, Mrs. Ethel Pearce and Mrs. Ivon Pearce at tended the funeral last Friday o£- Mr. Carol Honeycutt at the Mt. Vernon Church near Falls of Neuse. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Perry, Mrs. L. D. Perry and Mrs. Ivon Pearce called on the family of Mr. Honey cutt at Wakefield Thursday night. The famijy of Mr. Bob Pace has the sympathy of our community in their -hour of grief and sorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pearce are living with Mrs. Pearce’s grand mother, Mrs. Honeycutt, since her husband’s death last week, until further arrangements can be made. Mrs. F. O. Pearce is better, she had flu last week. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Perry, Don nie and Lawrence took supper with the C. L. Perrys Sunday night. Mrs. E. G. Richards and son, Eddy, of Raleigh are spending sev eral days with her parents, the C. L. Perrys. Mrs. Horace Jones and Mrs. Brady Privette of Pilot spent Wed nesday evening with Mrs. L. D. Pearce. The Zebulon Record Mr. and Mrs. Ben Perry and Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Richards of Ral eigh took supper with the C. L. Perrys last Sunday night. Mr. Thurman Ray, Mrs. Jim Ray, Mrs. L. D. Pearce and Miss Rose lyn Ray visited Mrs. Thurman Ray at Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount last Thursday. Cpl. Talmadge Pearce will leave Ft. Sill, Okla., next Monday for home after completing a three months’ course. Cpl. Pearce, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivon Pearce, is a member of the Zebulon National Guard Unit. Mrs. Ervin Ray, Kat and Celo tea Ray visited Mrs. Ray’s sister, Mrs. Billy Pearce of Zebulon Sun day evening. Mrs. J. W. Perry had a quilting Monday and Mrs. Ralph Privette had one Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lewis of Zebulon and Mr. and Mrs. Dur ward Lewis of Franklinton visited the C. L. Perrys recently. Mr. E. C. Pearce and Mrs. Ethel Pearce were in Raleigh Monday. Mr. Wilbert Fdwards and Mr. Ben Perry went to the stock mar ket at Rocky Mount last Tuesday. Mr. E. C. Pearce and Mr. Felix Pearce were Visiting in Louisburg last Tuesday. Mrs. Wilbert Edwards and chil dren spent Tuesday with her mo ther, Mrs. Ethel Pearce. Mr. and Mrs. Sprite Ferrell of near Wakefield spent Sunday with Mrs. Ferrell's parents, the Larby Perrys. Mrs. Ivon Pearce visited the Larby Perrys Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Pearce spent till bedtime with the C. L. Perrys last Friday night. Mrs. P. G. Pearce and Mrs. Lafayette Johnson visited Mrs. Pearce’s son, the Wayne Pearces at Clayton Wednesday before last. Mrs. Pearce has been sick. Mrs. Thurman Ray came home from the hospital in Rocky Mount Sunday evening and is getting on fine, both she and the new boy. Mrs. L. D. Perry attended a shower at Mrs. Harry Rogers Sat urday night honoring Mrs. Willie Branan, recent bride. Mr. Charles Sellers, student at Campbell College, Buies Creek, spent the weekend at home with his parents, the John Sellers. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Pearce vis ited Mrs. Pearce’s niece, Mrs. Lloyd, Saturday night, who is ill in Mary Elizabeth Hospital. Mrs. Grady Currin who has been living in Zebulon has moved to the home of her parents, the F. O. Pearces, while her husband is in service. He left last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Smitli of Riley visited Mrs. Smith’s parents, the J. M. Pearces recently. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Pearce and family attended a birthday dinner at the Earl Rays at Auburn Sun day honoring Mr. Pearce’s sister, Mrs. John Ray. Theodore Medlin returned home Sunday night after serving several months in Korea. IRIS TEMPLE Hopkins Chapel News There will be a vocal union at Hopkins Chapel Sunday afternoon, March 9th. The public is invited to attend. The deacons met at the church Monday night, Bible Study and Church Conference Thursday night. Bible Study and Prayer Service every Thursday night. All members are urged to attend these services. Hopkins Chapel W. M. S. will meet at Mrs. Mildred Perry’s Friday night, March 7, all members please be present. Visitors are al ways welcome. We remember Mrs. Oza Honeycutt who is sick at Mary Elizabeth Hospital. She visits our Union often. Our best to you, Miss Oza. Mr. and Mrs. Blannie Edwards visited Mrs. Edwards’ home in Henderson Sunday. Miss Christine Parrish and Mr. Albert Terry and Mr. Terry’s mo ther, visted the J. S. Stallings and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Baker Sunday. Jack Hamlet and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pearce and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse D. High recent visited the J. O. Pearces. Congratulations to Kenneth Hop kins for rating sergeant in the Na tional Guard. Velva Pearce will be home this weekend unless “flu” has got her. As in many other places there is a lot of it at A. C. C. Choir practice at Mrs. Eddie Martin’s tonight. March 7th.
