Four W. M. U. Meeting To Be Thursday The annual W. M. U. meeting of the Raleigh Association will meet Thursday, March 27 at the Tabernacle Church in Raleigh. The meeting will begin at 10:00 o’clock a. m. The Theme for the day will be •“The Power of Jesus’ Name.” Dr. and Mrs. I. N. Patterson, mission aries from Nigeria and Miss Ruth Provence, W. M. U. Secretary of North Carolina will speak. Special music will be rendered by various groups of the associa tion. Mrs. Hannah Liles has been very sick but is now improving. Allen Hinton left Jacksonille Saturday, for Cuba, where he will board a ship. Charles Hawkins is sick with flu. Mr. W. R. Mrs. Wade Jones and son spent part of last week in Winston-Sal em. • Demonstration Club The Wakefield Home Demon stration Club will meet Wednes day afternoon at 2:30 in the home of Mrs. J. L. Stell. The program will cover furni ture arrangements and improve ments in your bedroom. All mem bers are urged to be present and all visitors are welcome. • Bridge Club Mrs. Wilson Braswell was hos tess to her bridge club Friday night at her home on Gannon Avenue. Beautiful arrangements of apple blossoms anti daffodils decorated the living room. At the conclusion of play high and low score prizes for club mem bers were presented to Mrs. Wal lace Chamblee, and Mrs. Frederick Chamblee. Mrs. Rodney McNabb won high score prize for guests. Spring flowers decorated the rooms where three tables of bridge were enjoy ed. After several progressions high and low score prizes were present ed Mrs. Garland Godwin and Mrs. Lois Wall. Delicious refreshments of pecan pies, sandwiches, pickle and cof fee were served by the hostess. Wakelon Bulldogs To Begin Baseball The Wakelon Bulldogs will open their 1952 baseball season on April nine, according to Coach Jim Fish, who has had his squad hard at work for over two weeks. Two conference games each week are scheduled for the Wakelon team. April 1, Wakelon at Millbrook; April 4, Wendell at Wakelon; April 8, Knightdale at Wakelon; April 11, Wakelon at Rolesville; April 15, Wake Forest at Wakelon. April 18, Millbrook at Wakelon; April 22, Wakelon at Knightdale; April 25, Wakelon at Wake Forest; April 28, Rolesville at Wakelon; May 2, Wakelon at Wendell. The Eastern Division Wake County Series will be played the week of May 11, with the week, of May 4, saved for rained out or postponed games. CHAMBLEE Whereas, in the providence of God, we have suffered the loss of our beloved sister, Mrs. Clarence H. Chamblee, former president and faithful member; we, the mem bers of the Zebulon Woman’s Club of Zebulon, North Carolina, desire the express our sorrow in her pass ing, and our appreciation of her faithful example of love and loy alty during her years of service in our club. She served as president from 1925 to 1929. We feel that the work of our club was greatly enriched by her membership in the club and her devotion to each task per formed. Now, therefore, be it: Resolved, by the present mem bership of the Zebulon Woman’s Club that a copy of these resolu tions be sent to her family, a copy recorded in the club minutes, a copy sent to the North Carolina Club Woman magazine, and a copy sent to the Zebulon Record.
