Two MRS. POLLY FULLER Lizard Lick News Johnson Brothers’ store was moved last week to its new loca tion. Rain hindered motorists en tering the muddy drive ways, but soon the grounds will be packed and accommodating to customers and workers. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinnant and John joined other immediate mem bers of the family in a Mothers’ Day dinner at the home of Mrs. W. G. Horton of Knightdale Sun day, honoring their mother, Mrs. Harry Hinnant. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Alford’s Sat urday afternoon guests were the Roland Hills of Raleigh. Miss Josephine Gay of Washing ton, D. C., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Gay. Miss Annie Ruth Rhodes of Washington, D. C., and Mr. Bobby Rhodes of Takoma Park, Md., spent the weekend with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Rhodes. Mr. John Carter of Halifax was hospitalized from injuries receiv ed by a passing car on patrol duty last week. Injuries were not be lieved to be serious. Mrs. E. B. Alford and children were Sunday visitors of the Femie Hocutts of the Taberna cle section. Misses Millie Fuller, Sue Taylor and Sylvia Alford, Messrs. John Sledge, Frank Starnes and Bobby Horton joined their class of Wen dell School at Lake Mirl for a wiener roast Monday afternoon. This was given by their grade mothers. Mrs. W. E. Fuller and Mrs. M. B. Alford planted flowers on their parents’ cemetery plots at the Tab ernacle Church Monday p. m. Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Johnson and children, Peggy and Curtis and Mrs. Lula Yeargin stopped by the W. E. Fullers Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Mincey and children visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Alford of the Tab ernacle section Sunday. The new Vance Raybon store is almost complete and are getting ready to move the merchandise. Many were becoming worried Saturday when the hail started to fall the size of moth balls. Only slight damage, if any, was re ported in this section. It sure left some cool weather. Mr. Billy Joe Price will take over the school bus driven by Mr. Mack Liles, newly wed, and Mr. Ollie Ray Baker will be his sub stitute driver. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Wood had some of their children visit them during the weekend. It may too cold to work, but not to fish. Mr. A. C. Hobgood tried his luck Tuesday. The Zebulon Record Hopkins Chapel Happenings The Y. W. A.’s met with Mrs. B. K. Hopkins, the assistant coun selor, Tuesday night. Everyone en joyed the meeting very much. We were glad to have Bobbie Lou Cole of Raleigh, Vera Watkins of Raleigh, Mrs. D. A. Cope of Corinth Holders and Robert Blackley of the U. S. M. C. at Church Sunday. We wish to extend a hearty welcome to every visi tors that comes to our church and we would like to have them back again, soon. Our deepest sympathy goes to the friend and relatives of Mrs. Pearl Winstead and Mrs. W. O. Glover. Miss Peggy Wilder spent the weekend with Mrs. Kenneth Hop kins. Aleas Perry, Charles Perry, Jack Rackley, Johnny Creech and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Duke visited in Vir ginia recently. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pearce and Mr. and Mrs. Spruill Baker spent Saturday night with the J. O. Pearces. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Finch and Mrs. Lena Pulley visited Mrs. Finch’s uncle, who is very sick in Rex Hospital Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Finch vis ited the Graham Finches last Sat urday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nowell and Beth of Greensboro visited Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brannon Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Cope and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle Bunn and family visited Mrs. Iris Temple Sunday. The Gleaners Sunday School Class of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raleigh gave Mrs. Tem pie Fuller a sunshine basket Mon day night, it was very nice and she appreciates every gift. She al so wishes to express her apprecia tion of the first basket which the W. M. S. gave her. The Lovie Perry Bible Class met with Mrs. Mildred Perry Tues day night. This class has recently given a subscription of the Zebulon Record to Miss Gladys Perry. We hope she is enjoying it. Mrs. Julia Price’s children all gave her a Mother’s Day dinner in Raleigh Sunday. Due to sudden illness of Mrs. Dewarner Richardson, Mrs. Louise Batten was hostess in her place with Mrs. Ailene Richardson. An interesting program was given with many having a part,-under the direction of Mrs. Pervis Richardson. Presi dent Vera Hocutt called the busi ness portion to order after which the hostesses served drinks, pea nuts, potato chips and ice cream roll. Mrs. Cecil Carlyle handed in her resignation as principal of Vaca tion Bible School Sunday. Mrs. Polly Fuller was voted in as prin cipal and Mrs. Louise Batten will assist her. The school will be held the last week in June. VBS Clinic will be held at the Smithfield Church Friday May 23 from 4:00 until 9:00.p. m. (The formerly announced date, May 27 was a mistake). Friday, May 16, 1952 Tuesday night prater meeting was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Wood near Wen dell. Fellowship meeting is Thursday night at 8:00, all young people are urged to attend. Mrs. Katy Allen is much better, her daughter, Mrs. S. V. Price with whom she lived was at church Sun day after several months at home with her mother. Mrs. Rueben Batten remains about the same. Mr. T. H. Holder is still shut-in but is better. Miss Lis Cooke is in the hospital, she hopes to be home this home. Mrs. Bessie Moody is still feeble. Mrs. Nellie Driver is attending church again a winter of staying in, unable to be out. J. M.
