Mrs. Ruric Gill, Sr., received
cuts about her head, and Mrs. Ru
ric Gill, Jr., was bruised and re
ceived a cut on her leg in an au
tomobile accident while taking
Mrs. Gill, Sr., to the hospital for a
minor operation.

John Edward Reid, Route 4, Zeb
ulon, was charged with setting fire
and burning a tobacco pack house
and its contents. Probable cause
was found and Reid was bound
over to the Superior Court. Bond
was set at $5,000.
Frank Hodge, Zebulon, found
guilty of assault on a female, was
sentenced to 60 days, suspended
upon payment of SSO fine and costs.

Open House Held
For Recent Bride
On Tuesday, Mrs. A. S. Hin
ton, Sr., held an informal open
house honoring her daughter-in
law, Mrs. A. S. Hinton, Jr., a re
cent bride of Jacksonville, Fla.
Guests were greeted at the door
by the hostess and honoree. Punch
was poured in the dining room by
Mrs. L. E. Long. Fruit cake, sand
wiches and nuts were served by
Mrs. Wilbur Debnam and Mrs.
Randolph Hendricks.
The house was decorated for
the occasion with arrangements of
yellow chrysanthemums. These
flowers with yellow candles were
used in the dining room.
About forty guests called during
the afternoon.
