Two MRS. JANICE DENTON Union Chapel News The Church Conference will be held Friday night at 7:30. All members are urged to attend. On Sunday night, February 15 at 7:30, Miss Vivian Nowell of Wendell will be at Union Chapel to show pictures and tell of her mis sion work in Nigeria, Africa. The program is sponsored by the Young People’s Class. The public is invit ed to attend. Mrs. Buck Richards is ill in Rex Hospital. Mrs. Charles Creech and little Charlotte Brannon are among the sick. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Way lon home again. Mr. Vernon Mitchell is sick with flu. Mrs. Sadie Tant is confined to her home with sickness. Mr. and Mrs. Junior McLamm and daughters of Clinton and Mrs. Leo Leffingwell and Bertie Sue of Baltimore, Md., were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Horton at Bunn. Mrs. Joe Cunningham and daughters were Sunday afternoon callers of Mrs. Edgar Harris near Riley. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Tant and Phil were visitors of the Wilbur Morgans in Wendell Saturday p. m. Mr. Ronnie Richards, Mr. Rod ney Flood and Linda, and Miss Shirley Richards were weekend visitors in Edinburg and Wood stock, Va. Mrs. Flood returned with them. Mr. Sterling Mitchell was a call er of the Waylon Hoods Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Cordie Ferrell and children were Sunday night visi tors of the Perry Lee Carlyles of Mitchell’s Mill, the Alex Bakers and Mrs. Lillie Ferrell of Pearces. Visitors in the home of the Buck Richards Monday were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eddins of Wakefield, Mr. and Mrs. Cordie Ferrell and children, the W. O. Perritts of But ner, Mr. Ronnie Richards, Mes dames Otha Brannon, A. S. Draughon, Sterling Mitchell and Vance Lee Denton and children. Mrs. Charles Creech and Cyn thia of Glory spent Monday with the Heber Creeches. Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Rogers and children were Tuesday supper guests of the Lewis Brannons. Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Massey and Larry of Pilot were callers at the Jack Creeches and the Arkell Phil lips on Monday night. Rev. and Mrs. Vivian Evans of Wake Forest were Sunday night visitors of the Spencer Tants. Mrs. Wayne Lewis of Pilot visit ed her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hood last Tuesday. Mrs. Arkell Phillips spent Tues day with her father, Mr. Frank Weathers, who is sick with pneu monia. He is with the Clyde El lingtons. Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Rogers and family and Mrs. Franklin Pierce and Alma Lou of Bethany were Sunday night visitors of the Jack Creeches. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leffingwell and children of Baltimore, Md., arrived last Friday night for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buck Richards. Mr. Lef fingwell and three of the children returned to Baltimore Sunday night. Mrs. Leffingwell and Bertie Sue are here because of her mo ther’s illness. The Julian Mitchells enjoyed a trip to Fayetteville and Fort Bragg last Sunday. Faye and Wayne Fuller spent Sunday with their uncle, The Os car Maidens in Selma. Sunday dinner guests of the Cor die Ferrells were Mr. and Mrs. James Mitchell and children of Rolesville. Visits to the Ferrell home were made by Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Mitchell. The Sterling Mitchells were vis itors of the Vernon Mitchells. Mrs. Marvin Privett and Mrs. Coley Privett visited the Brodie Privetts last Thursday. The G. A.’s and the R. A.’s held their monthly meeting at the church last Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garvey of Washington, D. C., announce the birth of a daughter on Feb 3. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wiggins and children visited his parents, the O. E. Wiggins near Youngsville last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Griffin and son of Elizabeth City spent the weekend with Mrs. Griffin’s parents, the Clyde Pearces. Mrs. Bryant Pippin, Mrs. Brodie Privett and Mrs. Ronald Pearce visited the Jesse Taylors in Wilson last Sunday. Mrs. Fred Alford and Carol Wil liams have returned home from Franklin Memorial Hospital, Jer ry Wayne Bunn from Rex, Myra Lynn Williams from Watts and Mrs. John Davis from Duke. The L. D. Pearces of Pearces visited the Brodie Privetts Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Pippin of Zebulon spent Sunday afternoon with the Lennie Pooles. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Alford and children of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilder of near Louisburg visited their parents, the Clyde Pearces last weekend. The Woman’s Bettterment Club met with Mrs. S. F. Williams on Feb. 5, with 21 members pres ent. The Home Agent, Mrs. Shaw, gave an interesting demonstration of a budget meal. Following this the hostess served delicious re freshments. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones of Smithfield visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Jones last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Raybon and son and Mrs. Ronald Pearce visit ed Mrs. Seth Raybon last Mon day night. Mrs. Emmett Wiggins entertain ed members of her bridge club Wednesday night, Feb. 4, at her home. Arrangements of spring flowers decorated the living room where two tables of bridge were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jones and Misses Fay Jones and Janet Har ris of Bunn visited the Larby Per rys Sunday evening. Mrs. Ivon Pearce visited the Jim Phillips near Zebulon Sunday eve ning. Mrs. Joe Wright has returned to the home of her mother, Mrs. Adna Pearce, after visiting her sister, Mrs. Raymond Poythress of Wash ington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wood visited Mr. Wood’s parents, the William Woods of Wakefield last Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gay and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Doyle have been visiting Mrs. Gay’s and Mr. Doyle’s parents, the Grady Doyles, who have been sick. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Richards of Raleigh spent the weekend with Mrs. Richards parents, the C. L. Perrys. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pearce had dinner with Mrs. Pearce’s parents, the William Honeycutts, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Sprite Ferrell of near Wakefield had Sunday din ner with Mrs. Ferrell’s parents, the Larby Perrys. Mrs. Douglas Perry of Zebulon spent Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. Hovan Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Ainsworth Privette had supper with Mr. Privette’s par ents, the L. E. Privettes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Perry of Zebulon visited the Larby Perrys Wednesday night. Mr. C. L. Perry spent several days last week visiting her daugh ter and family, the E. G. Richards, of Raleigh. Mrs. B. F. Pierce is spending sev eral days with her son, the Swain Pierces, in Raleigh. The R. A.’s and G. A.’s met last Tuesday night at the church with a large membership. Every boy and girl between the ages of 9 and 16 are urged to join. Re freshments were served.
