PEARCES Demonstration Club Meets Thursday; Fourteen Are Present Mrs. Ivon Pearce —Too late for last week— The Home Demonstration Club met last Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. J. W. Perry. Mrs. Shaw, County Agent, gave the demonstration on “Ways to Easy Meals.” There were 14 present and two new members. The hostess ser ved delicious refreshments. The W. M. U. met Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. L. D. Perry. Twenty-one members were pres ent , and two visitors. Mrs. Calvin Spann from Pilot was guest speak er. The hostess served sandwiches, mints, nuts, cake and lice ice. Mr. and Mrs. Doyt Oakley had as they supper guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. Crusie Denton and Mrs. Sid die Oakley of County Line. Mesdames L. D. Perry, E. G. Richards, Ellis Arnold, Mark Fow ler, Ivon Pearce and Miss Hattie Pearce attended the funeral of Mr. Robert Perry at Raleigh last Wednesday. Mrs. Willie D. Price is ill in Mary Elizabeth Hospital. Mrs. L. D. Perry visited Mrs. W. D. Price and Mrs. Roxie Bunn, who is ill in Mary Elizabeth Hos pital, and Mrs. Virginia Perry of 1305 Courtland Drive, Raleigh, Sunday evening. Mr. L. D. Perry, Lav/rence and Donnie Perry, and Mr. Millard Jones visited Mr. Jones’ parents, Sunday evening, the Lee Jones of near Rolesville. Mrs. Ivon Pearce and Dalton were visiting Mrs. Troy Baker in Raleigh last Monday. Mesdames Clifton Brantley and R. H. Murray visited Mrs. W. D. Price in the hospital Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones of Wen dell had dinner with Mrs. Jones’ sister, Mrs. Nathaniel Upchurch, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Privette and Mr. and Mrs. Coley Privette went to Raleigh Saturday morning to see their grandparents and niece take a plane for Texas, where she will join her husband, Ronald Pearce, who is in service. Mrs. Adna Pearce, Velda Jean Pearce and Mrs. Joe Wright were visiting Mrs. Pearce’s son, Plybon Pearce of Garner, on Thursday. The Rev. and Mrs. Albert Lamm were dinner guests of the J. W. Perrys last Sunday. Mrs. C. L. Perry is ill in Rex Hospital. Little Sandra Beasley is home from the hospital and is improv ing. The R. A’s met at the church last Tuesday night. Mrs. Adna Pearce is spending several days in Durham with her daughter, Mrs. David Lee Clayton, who is ill in Duke Hospital. The Russell Pearces visited Mrs. Pearce’s sister, Mrs. Rella Bryant, who is ill in Mary Elizabeth, this week. The Sanford Pearces of necy Zebulon spent last Sunday with the J. W. Johnsons. Mrs. Katie Catlette of Wakefield visited her daughter, Mrs. P. G. Pearce, Monday. Little June Pearce of Goldsboro spent several days with her grand parents, the Zollie Johnsons. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pearce of Clayton spent Monday with his parents, the P. G. Pearces. The Elmer Pearces of Goldsboro visited their parents, Mrs. Adna Pearce and the Zollie Johnsons, last Wednesday. June, their daugh ter, returned home with them. Miss Helda Ray of Raleigh is at home with her parents, Jim Rays, after being in the hospital a couple of weeks. The Otha Underhills of Wendell visited the P. G. Pearces Sunday.
