The new building, completely air-conditioned, is constructed of marble, steel, and masonry. The cashier’s and Rotarianns Honored At Barbecue Friday Members of the Zebulon Rotary Club honored their Rotarianns at a barbecue supper held in the community park last Friday night, eating under the large outdoor shelter. Ed Hales, chairman of the Finer Carolina committee, and Ralph Talton, chairman of the Recreation Commission, gave reports on plans for the park. Ed Ellington and W’illie B. Victoria Gill Dies Friday Evening; Funeral Held Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Vic toria Brantley Gill, 73, who died Friday night at her home after a long illness, were held at the Zeb ulon Baptist Church Sunday af ternoon at 3 o’clock. The Rev. Bev erly Asbury, pastor, officiated, as sisted by the Rev. R. H. Herring and the Rev. T. B. Davis, former pastors. The body lay in state at the church for an hour prior to the service. Burial was in the Zebulon cemetery. Mrs. Gill had been a very active member of the Zebulon Baptist Church during her life time, tak ing part in all religious activities. Surviving are five sons, I. D. Gill, N. R. Gill, S. P. Gill, E. D. Gill, and J. W. Gill, all of Zebulon; one daughter, Katrina Gill of Charlotte; three brothers, A. C. Brantley of Durham, R. E. Brant ley of Tryon; and J. J. Brantley of Buffalo, N. Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Alford of Zebulon, Mrs. W. H. Collins of Nashville, and Mrs. Emily D. Harrow of Jacksonville, Florida. In Hospital A-lc Bobby J. The interior walls are painted frost green. Li'l Leaguers Take Win , Juniors Split in Softball The Zebulon Little League ac companied by Willie Griswold and H. C. Wade played their first game of the season Saturday. July 11, at Buekhorn. They defeated the Wilson County Little League by the score of 12 to 11. Willie Griswold, Manager Junior Softball In the first game of our Junior Softball League Louisburg defeat ed Zebulon 11-10. On Wednesday the same two teams met again and this time Zebulon downed Louisburg 7-3. Tony Pearce, who was elected captain, pitched both games and is proving to be a good prospect for the senior league. Brown, Pearce, and Page proved to have power at the plate while Phillips, Hodge and Griswold did some excellent fielding. Our next game is Wednesday afternoon when we play Wake Forest at Wake Forest. Hopkins W.M.S. The W. M. S. of Hopkins Chapel will meet with Mrs. Jimmie Lee Pearce at her home Wednesday night at 8:00.
